DO NOT RENT HERE! This will be lengthy, but I'll explain why. I've been here a little over 2 years. They are managed by Red Tail Property Management. They are rated at 1.6 stars. This explains much of our problems at the Township. When I moved in, my carpet was not replace, just vacuumed. It had holes in it & the tack strips exposed. I was told I could have it replaced but would have to move all my furniture out to have it done. I'm 71. My bathroom sink was so rusty that it leaked. They wanted to paint it with some very toxic paint. I told them no. It took over a year to get a new bathroom sink. They reversed the water hook ups so cold is hot & hot is cold. My shower is the same way. Water is constantly being shut off because of water leak repairs that need to be done. I had one in my kitchen. I had a huge hole in my kitchen ceiling & bathroom wall. The kitchen whole was there for over 6 months. The bathroom was all the way through to next unit for about 2 months before repairs were finally made. At least they taped up plastic garbage bags to hide them. I have pictures. When it rains, my bedroom ceiling above one of the windows leaks. It's done this since I moved in and is still not repaired. I have a mold allergy. I'd be willing to bet that there is plenty of mold in that spot. My kitchen had moldy insulation and drywall. The insulation was taken out & never replace. This building has a lot of mold, so if you're allergic, don't move here. Many of the windows here don't work properly. If you're lucky enough to have one that opens, chances are you have to prop them open. I have 1 of those. The windows are so old that they aren't sealed properly anymore. When the wind is strong enough, the blinds move, even when windows and patio doors are shut. Plan on putting plastic over them in the winter or you'll be cold. The walls are thin. You will hear you neighbor on each side of you & above you. There is not enough parking here. The 2 lots are always full by early evening. I rent a spot in the parking garage. It's a mess as well. One entrance tends to flood in heavy rains. Water seeps through the cracks in the foundation and soaks anything in the storage areas that are on the floor. The musty smell is atrocious. You also don't want to park in front of a window well because when the vents are open, the car gets filthy. The poles that you have to dodge are dangerous to the car. A lot of the cars down there have scrapes on them. The laundry room is another joke. There are 8 washers & 8 dryers for a large building. There is almost always 1 or 2 machines not working. The dryers are stacked. If you're short and the bottom 4 dryers are in use or not working, you'll need a step stool to get your stuff out of the top ones. The price goes up every 5-6 months without warning. They are old crappy machines. In the last week we've had a couple of gas leak issues. I've complained about smell gas a couple of times over the last 2 years & they don't care. This whole building needs to be inspected. My apartment smells of gas once in a while. So, if you don't want to risk getting blown up, don't move here. Something they probably don't tell you, is that there is a clause in the lease that states you can't break your lease from September 1 thru the end of February. So if things are bad during that time, you can't leave. The last couple of months I have been over charged when paying my rent & all the fees. It's not much, but I can't get a credit or refund for it. I'm on Social Security & need every penny I have. The office has nothing but lies & excuses. I don't trust any of them!!! The only decent person here is our maintenance guy, Brian. He's trying to do the right thing & keep things going. But he's stuck by what managements wants & does. Not worth what they are charging for rent. This place is a dump & should probably be demolished. When looking at apartments, see who the management company is. If it's Red Tail..run away. . I can't wait to get out of here even if it means living in my car with my cat.
