  I can not tell you how great Stephanie Castillo is at Associa Chicagoland. We have worked with her for years and she been always been there to help and guide us through managing the budget of our townhouse complex. As the treasurer, I have no clue what I would do without her guidance over the years.

  I’ve been paying HOA fees here since 2015, and this is the first time I’ve ever had a payment returned for insufficient funds. I accidentally put the money in the wrong account, realized my mistake, and paid what I owed. They still charged me a $50 returned payment fee. I asked if they could waive it as a one-time courtesy, especially considering my payment history, and they refused because it was a “cost to the association.” Seriously? One mistake in almost 12 years and there’s no consideration at all? What makes it even more frustrating is that our HOA fees keep going up while it feels like we get less and less for what we pay. More things seem to become the homeowner’s responsibility, but the fees certainly don’t go down. I understand that I made the mistake. I’m not arguing that. But $50 for one returned payment after almost 12 years of paying HOA fees? And they can’t make one exception? It really makes you wonder what exactly we are paying so much for. Very disappointing.

  I visited Associa's new office in Romeoville on Friday Aug. 14th to try to resolve issues concerning non posting of Townhome Association monthly payments and resulting late Charges. Selina Laurendi was the Associa representative I dealt with and she was extremely helpful in resolving my issues and found that payments believed to be missing had actually been posted to the wrong association account and assured me that late payments associated with the missposting would be waived
