  I’ve lived at The Mason for several years and have really loved calling it home. The building is consistently well-maintained, and I appreciate the effort the team puts into creating a welcoming environment for residents. The resident events are a great way to bring people together and create a real sense of community, which can be hard to find in a city apartment building. I also want to give a special shoutout to Sabrina, the concierge. She is always incredibly helpful, welcoming, and attentive, and she goes out of her way to make residents feel taken care of. Having someone like Sabrina at the front desk really makes a difference in the overall resident experience. I’ve stayed at The Mason for several years because I genuinely love living here, and I’m grateful for the community and the people who help make it feel like home.

  Great building with a great gym and a phenomenal pool. The staff works hard to foster a great community among the residents. Rachel in the leasing office is amazing and Sabrina at the front desk is the absolute best!

  I lived at the Mason for 3 years and had a really great experience there. A huge part of that was the staff. The maintenance team was always great and really responsive whenever something came up. Everyone in the leasing office was friendly and helpful, and the front desk staff made the building feel really welcoming. I especially want to call out Sabrina at the front desk. She was always great to talk to and really went above and beyond to make sure residents felt welcome and actually enjoyed living there. She was always warm, helpful, and just made the building feel more like home. The building itself was also really well maintained and the amenities were great. Also, the Mason has the best pool in Chicago. The setup, the views, the whole vibe in the summer, it’s really hard to beat. The location is obviously great too. Fulton Market has pretty much everything you’d want within walking distance, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, gyms, etc. I have a lot of great memories from living there and would definitely recommend it. The staff, location, amenities, and just the overall experience made it a really great place to live for those 3 years.

  I’m so grateful for such a wonderful move in experience at Mason! Entire management team have been incredibly kind and helpful throughout the whole process. Huge thank you to Stole for being so supportive throughout all the paperwork, answering all of my questions, and making everything feel so easy.I truly appreciate all their help and am so excited to call Mason home!

  Pros: + Location + Amenities Cons: - You don’t have control over the temperature in your unit. In winter, the whole building can only use heat. In summer, only ac. So between seasons, you’re either boiling or freezing. We lived in a corner unit that got a lot of sunlight so our apt was always hot even in the winter, and the heat only made our unit hotter and hotter and we could do absolutely nothing about it. You can fiddle with the thermostat all you want but it doesn’t actually accomplish anything because the building controls it, not you. - You can’t really open your windows because then the gas and smoke from next door restaurants, especially the bbq restaurant, will enter your unit and make your clothes and upholstery smell like smoke. - The L train on Lake passes by all day long and it is very loud and disruptive. - Walls are paper thin. Our neighbor played music constantly and had late night parties and even later night/ early morning after-parties. Our sleep was ruined for a year - Some residents, not all, don’t pick up after their pets and frequently left dog poop in the hallways and stairs. - We complained to management several times but they were terrible. None of them cared or did anything.
