  You might pay for their lack of maintenance. They don't maintain all their units equally. Most units have had their windows replaced. There are gaps/holes in the window frames where gnats and other bugs can get in. There are also cracks in the walls of the window sill. This was an issue for a while, gnats getting in. I eventually found the source. I showed them images of the gaps in holes of the window. They said there was a piece missing….obviously. They offered no support initially. They said they would 'work with me', this specific issue went on for about a year. Persistent issue with heating my unit. They ignored it until they legally had to do something because the temperature was so low. The energy bill was high. Plumbing was an issue in the building, drainage, and water quality. Check the baseboards for expanded wood and discoloration. There are 4 elevators in the building, they all worked during most of my stay, but by the time I left 2 of the lesser elevators were the only functional ones. They don't do proactive maintenance, they wait for it to break, then fix it. If it is a building wide issue, they will pretend it isn’t and lie to your face. During the winter they put up plastic on the windows to keep the place warmer, which I appreciate. I left it up for the gnats that I was sure would come again during the summer. It’s not like the rent is cheap for what you get. I would avoid it.

  I enjoy living at Somerset. Ruth is phenomenal and the entire staff is a complete joy. You won’t regret making Somerset your new home.

  After residing at Somerset Place Apartments for some years now, I am truly grateful for the genuine kindness and personable energy provided by management! Ruth as the 1st point of contact for tenant engagement, was the best decision made for this property; She’s very friendly and genuinely cares about the community inside this property.

  I’ve lived at Somerset Place Apartments for a few years now, and I absolutely love it here! I’ve had such a positive experience throughout my time as a resident. Management is great and always very responsive whenever I have a question or need assistance. Ruth, the property manager, is amazing! She is incredibly sweet, helpful, and genuinely cares about the residents and the community. I’ve lived in several apartments over the years, and this has easily been one of the best property management experiences I’ve had. I’m very happy to call Somerset Place home and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to live!

  I wanted to share my great experience living at Somerset Place. Ruth, the face of the building, is one of the most thoughtful and community oriented leaders I have ever had the pleasure to do business with. Everyone who lives here is treated with respect, there are rules that ensure that, and they are applied equally and without prejudice. I have lived in high rises where the building managers have treated the tenants like elementary school students, and that is what i love the most about living here - the wonderful people who work here that make sure each resident feels valued and heard at anytime of day. Additionally, the building itself and the ameneties are updated significantly more often than a nearby building that costs twice as much in rent. Could go on and on, but bottom line let it be known that Ruth makes the world go round here and makes Somerset Place the most joyful place to live in Uptown. Sincerely, Tom, Current Resident
