  I’ve lived at the tides for a couple months and hate it, the management are rude and useless when they do respond which for the most part they ignore resident messages and do not answer the phone. The place is over run with loud poorly trained dogs and terrible insulation in general. The management office doesn’t even bother to send alerts when a neighboring unit is being renovated so enjoy banging (above the legal decimal limit in cook county) at any point. The only positive are the super friendly and helpful door staff.

  My experience living at The Tides at Lakeshore East was generally positive, but the move-out process was so unprofessional that I wouldn’t recommend it. About a month after moving out, I was billed $998 to replace bedroom carpet for damage. The carpet was in excellent condition, no staining, or physical damage. I asked for an itemized invoice and photos of the alleged damage - mostly as I was concerned they confused my unit with another and wanted to verify. Three times I was told an invoice with details and photos would be emailed. It never was. Each call was met with the same promise, no follow-through. There was attitude, no help, and no interest in resolving the issue. Then I learned the account had been sent to collections before I was even given 30 days to pay or any notice, despite my repeated requests for documentation. This isn’t just about a charge, it’s about a management team that failed to communicate, failed to honor repeated commitments, and handled a legitimate customer concern without transparency or professionalism. If you’re considering living here, know that if a move-out charge is disputed, you may have to fight for basic documentation. Don’t assume they’ll follow through. I was honestly shocked by the behavior as that’s not the standard I’d expect from a professionally managed property and I’ve lived in several luxury building across Chicago - Cascade, Nema, the two most recent. Advice I have for The Tides - just be transparent and share with tenants it’s a standard charge vs saying there’s damage and essentially providing false promises in basic documentation. Renters beware!! If you want to live in Lakeshore East - consider Cascade or Coast before you consider the Tides or Shoreham.

  I lived at the Shoreham for 1.5 years, and overall my experience was pleasant. The front desk, especially Ruth and James are great! I took off one star because the management is known for hiking the rent prices more than the average, and forcing people to move out or to move to other units. I also got sick multiple times because of the two-pipe system: because of Chicago's volatile weather, it was at times too cold and heating was not available. For a luxury apartment at this price point, I think they can do better. Overall, I liked my time there and being near the Lakeshore East park, lake, riverwalk and Marianos was incredible.

  Mike was incredibly helpful and proactive with my two maintenance requests. He responded within an hour of me submitting them, quickly resolved both issues, and now everything is working perfectly again. I really appreciate his prompt response and efficient service!

  Mike came to the rescue when my toilet would not stop running. It took him 5 minutes! He was very nice and polite.
