  My first months at The Parker were really good - the fire alarms did go out very often but staff was friendly and it really felt like they cared. They changed the management company this year and have a new staff, I had issues until the end of my lease: dirty elevators, trash on the floor, community room doesn't have wifi access or coffee like they used to anymore, people smoking... I did not renew my lease. I returned my keys on July 21st, it's September and they haven't gotten my deposit check back although I called them already 4 times and the only answer I get is that it's approved by accounting and should arrive soon (it has been 3 weeks, and I'm still living in Des Moines). Would not recommend living at The Parker until they figure out how to best manage it. Edit Sep 14th – called them again to ask the status on my deposit back after they've responded to my review asking to reach out to them (as if I haven't already 8 times). looks like they managed to deliver my deposit to the mailbox of the apartment I leased with them, so the two times I shared my forwarding address with them were for nothing since they just sent to the apartment I had with them which by the way has a new tenant now. Emailed Brittany last week asking for a status and nothing. After the call I had with her today I sent a follow up via email, hopefully I'll get a response from that.Very frustrating and terrible experience, I just want my deposit back and be done with it.

  Scheduled a tour for Monday, June 29th at 3:00 PM. Came all the way from Ames just for NO ONE TO BE IN THE OFFICE. Had a sign on a door showing they will not be back until 4:30 pm. Drove 35 minutes for nothing. Called the place and the AI agent tells me that 3:00 PM was actually outside of their times. Then why do you have 3:00 PM as an option for a tour? Especially on your website? Great first impression. Still haven’t heard a call or email back. Seems like a good sign to not live here in the first place. Disappointing.

  Buildings fire alarm goes off constantly and 99% of the time it is for no REAL reason, just people burning food, smoking, or some other reason. Highly annoying and frustrating to deal with.

  Needed to find an apartment last minute and Kris and everyone at The Parker has been amazing to work with and very accommodating. My unit was renovated and very clean when I arrived! Couldn’t be happier with my place and the community!

  Recently moved in to The Parker which fits all my needs, it is very well located near to almost anywhere Downtown by walking distance for pharmacy / groceries/ hospital/ gym/ restaurants/entertainment. Management has been exceptional so far very attentive and addressing any concern or event. Update: My experience after moving out has been very underwhelming. It took more than a month for me to receive by mail my security deposit check. I called multiple times without answer and it was not until I left a voicemail that it seems someone did his/her job. However, the check I received has no routing number for me to deposit or cash in. So far two months going to three after moving out they technically have not paid me. I keep calling the number provided for help and lately it is going to voicemail after three rings.
