  I really enjoyed living here. The best place I have lived in Des Moines. The apartment is clean and quiet, and it allows you to design your own space with the open concepts. Maintenance is unbelievably fast if anything ever needs fixed (this doesn't happen much of course). And probably what makes it the best are the community managers. The current manager Andrea is wonderful, and she maintains the community and space as somewhere desirable to live. Requests/comments about anything are met with a genuine and helpful response. Additionally, the community at the apartment complex is respectful and friendly. It is a really cool place to live, and I highly recommend it if you are looking for an apartment in Des Moines.

  Some initial delay due to change in staff, though once I spoke to the building rep, problem was resolved that day.

  I love living at The Gateway. My neighbors are great and management addresses all issues promptly. I just signed my 3rd lease and wouldn't want to live anywhere else, close enough to downtown but still on the outskirts. The structure of the building makes it very quiet 99.9% of the time! Apartments are spacious and the ceilings are so high it makes it feel even bigger.

  I have lived here for several years and under the original and previous owners it was absolutely incredible! Maintenance was immediate, they listened and cared, and were here to provide a great downtown living experience. After Artisan Management Group took over everything went downhill. The maintenance is slow/doesn't happen when you request a time, the cost of living has skyrocketed charging tenants on average $200 more a year when renewing your lease, the cleanliness of the hallways and common areas ceased to exist once they took over, they do no maintenance of landscaping/snow removal or anything of the sort. We had out elevator broken for a 3 month period and I've heard complaints of appliances in other apartments bot working for longer. Their management is terrible and those 5 star reviews do not depict how living here actually is. If you're looking for a place to live and looking here there is one positive and that is you'll have a cool apartment. The negatives are boundless and it could all be changed by management if they cared enough to do so and didn't see the tenants as simple dollar signs.
