- ASAakash ShahJun 12, 20261.0Denied My Deck Request Without Any Explanation I submitted a detailed architectural review request for a rear deck addition at my Magnolia Walk townhome. After their review, the ARC Committee sent a one-paragraph denial letter stating my request “does not align with community standards and guidelines.” That’s it. No specifics. No examples of what would comply. No path forward. When I requested clarification on which standards I violated, I was stonewalled. Are the dimensions the issue? The materials? The location? They won’t say. How is any homeowner supposed to comply with standards they won’t clearly communicate? This isn’t architectural oversight—it’s arbitrary gatekeeping masquerading as community protection. If Magnolia Walk’s standards are too vague for even their own committee to explain, that’s a problem with the HOA, not with homeowners. Don’t use them if you value transparency or any semblance of reasonable communication with your HOA. PMI Northeast Atlanta and the ARC Committee operate in opacity and hide behind vague boilerplate language. Avoid.

I increased my golden stars by one when we found out that the community board of directors was the hold up. I put up a 3 star review and amazingly same day we got the approval.

He goes above and beyond M-F without being asked to do so and always has the best “can do” attitude. We appreciate him and everything he does for our community!
