Update 5/14: Orkin has since been scheduled to spray inside my apartment, and it seems like a couple more visits may finally eliminate the baby cockroach infestation I’ve been dealing with. Again, should have been treated and dealt with prior to my move in.
I’m not sure who is responsible for managing the Google Reviews, but rest assured, I have sent dozens of emails over the last 5 months in an attempt to resolve remaining issues. Still have several electrical outlets that don’t work or won’t hold a plug, chewed blinds in my room plus other contract work that has yet to be scheduled. The water heater closet was finally cleaned of most dust and debris (from the photo you can see it was clearly filthy). I also dealt with a mold issue for multiple months and while tested for and confirmed safe living conditions, the mold rings around the outlet and several vents remain. The company who came to clean my vents said the cleanliness of the area adjacent to/under the vent cover is not their responsibility.
Multiple requests for rent concessions have been ignored or denied, despite the amount of work productivity lost and stress/frustration associated with continuing to coordinate these issues. We’re told to just “stop by”, but I don’t have time to “stop by” 5x per week and wait for the singular leasing agent to return from a tour. I’ve sent countless emails at this point, and it’s too costly to move, so we’re stuck suffering corporate red tape and inefficiencies.
__________
I’ve lived here for three months, and unfortunately the experience has been consistently frustrating. The move-in photos should speak for themselves but I’ll elaborate.
The leasing staff, Janiyah and Kesha, are kind and professional in conversation. However, despite repeated follow-ups, it has been extremely difficult to get issues fully resolved.
At this point, I’ve submitted more than 13 maintenance requests, not including a detailed move-in inspection with multiple pages of notes. My unit was not ready when I received keys on 12/31, and as of 4/2, several of those original issues still remain unresolved. Additional problems have come up since, including a suspected pest issue that has not yet been addressed since I notified about it a few days ago.
I’ve also spent a significant amount of personal time coordinating these repairs. This has included rearranging my schedule to accommodate vendor appointments that did not show up, as well as unexpected visits without notice despite repeated requests for advance communication. The lack of coordination has made an already frustrating situation even more disruptive.
To be fair, one member of the maintenance team, Mark Anthony, has been consistently professional and helpful. However, it seems like the overall volume of issues at the property is overwhelming the system; he inherited a LOT of work left incomplete by his unprofessional predecessor.
Beyond my unit, there are also concerning property-wide issues:
- Two gates has been broken for an extended period and left open, creating a security concern
- The dog park gate out to the street does not properly close
- There have been reports of an unhoused individual staying in a pool-area bathroom
The location and pricing are appealing, but the move-in experience and ongoing maintenance response (aside from Mark Anthony’s efforts) have been disappointing.
If you choose to move in, I strongly recommend doing a very detailed inspection at move-in, documenting everything with photos, and allowing extra time to ensure all issues are formally recorded. Do not move in if the unit is not *completely* up to expectations regardless of any promises for the work to be completed in earnest.
I’m hopeful management will step in to resolve the remaining issues soon. I’ve noticed that previous responses to reviews often encourage residents to reach out via email, but my recent attempts to do so have not received a response. If these issues continue without resolution, I may have to escalate and subsequently explore other housing options.
