I honestly don’t know what else to do anymore — whether I should call the police or just lose my mind inside this apartment.
Since we moved here on May 30th, we have not had peace. Our upstairs neighbor jumps — literally jumps — day and night. And when they are not jumping, they walk stomping their feet. There is no specific time: 6 PM, 8 PM, 9 PM, 10 PM, 11 PM, 2 AM, 3 AM, 4 AM, 5 AM — seven days a week.
During the first weekend after we moved in, I sent my first email to the office explaining that the noise was unbearable and asking if they could please notify the residents that someone lives underneath them. That email was answered. However, nothing changed.
In the following weeks, I sent three more emails and received no response. Today marks 30 days living here — 30 straight days of waking up and going to sleep with the windows shaking because of how much they jump and stomp in the apartment above us.
I have already asked if there is another unit available or any other possible solution, but nothing has been offered to me.
I am writing this almost at midnight on a Tuesday, and we still cannot sleep. But tomorrow, July 1st, if rent is not paid, I am sure a “reminder” email will arrive by the afternoon.
My husband works a physically demanding job and leaves home at 5 AM, but he cannot rest at night because it feels like we have a highway above our heads.
When I toured this community, I loved the service. During the application process, when we received the keys, and even with maintenance requests, the staff was helpful. But unfortunately, they are just as good at ignoring a basic need: the right to rest and have peace inside our own home.
I am writing this review hoping that maybe this will finally make them move us to another apartment or take action. But for now, I want to warn anyone considering living here: in 30 days, my requests for help have been ignored, and nothing has been done.
Think carefully if this happens to you and whether you would be able to live like this.
