I had a really disappointing move-in experience at 4800 West Shore. Two days before my scheduled move-in, I was told that my original unit was no longer available due to “unforeseen circumstances,” and I was moved into a different unit. Unfortunately, that unit was not move-in ready. The floors were sticky, the apartment was not properly cleaned, and I began seeing roaches almost immediately. I reported the issues right away, and management did send an exterminator. The exterminator told me that once I had the apartment professionally cleaned, they could move forward with addressing the pest issue. I scheduled the cleaning, but I was then told by management that pest control would not be able to return for approximately another two weeks. To their credit, management was willing to reimburse me for the professional cleaning. However, my biggest concern is the lack of urgency surrounding a pest issue that was present from the moment I moved in. When an apartment is delivered in an unclean condition with an active roach problem, waiting weeks for additional treatment is simply not an acceptable solution. Ultimately, I chose to move out less than two weeks after moving in. The most frustrating part is that none of this should have been something I had to discover and resolve after receiving the keys. At the absolute minimum, an apartment should be clean and reasonably ready to occupy on move-in day.

Been living here two years and it’s a nice area. Got some new neighbors downstairs who bang on their ceiling every-time my two year old is playing. Mind you he’s in school Monday through Friday for 8 hours a day and we actually don’t sleep in our apartment 4 days out of the week. When we are at home my toddler is playing for 3-4 hours in the afternoon before bed and it infuriates them to the point that now they are slamming their doors on purpose to “make a statement “ I guess , but I’m sure that’s more disturbing for their next door neighbors, not so much us. Their behavior is worse than a toddler. I make sure that he is in bed at a reasonable time to be considerate of others at night, but in the afternoon he plays after school . and I try my best to limit his heavy little feet from thumping. I feel like my family and I are now walking on eggshells in our own home. It’s impossible to get a 2 year old to sit still during the day especially on the weekends. I hear doors open and close, pipes when water is on, I hear conversations through the walls, I hear footsteps above me as well…but guess what? These are apartments and not houses. It is what it is. I cannot wait for this lease to be up so we can move on. Along with the roaches , spiders , and termites. Pet owners leaving their pet feces in the road for you to step in it. Black mold in the showers, and found on a few of my toddlers clothes that I now have to toss out. I moved on the second floor considering we literally live in a flood zone during hurricane season and I guess I’m paying the price with neighbors from hell. Other than that. The area is convenient . Staff is very kind . Maintenance request are answered promptly. Rent here is too expensive to feel uncomfortable.

I live there, that is amazing. 8 had a large Apt on the 3rd floor. Then I had a one bedroom. How do we keep ending up now. Why didn't you come and find me. I tried calling you but I didn't have a place to go to. It sounds like you did not take my calls so I finally got a one bedroom. You found me and my business, took all I could do not to come over to you at the bar. I wanted to come there but I thought you might be with someone.
