Worst buying experience I’ve ever had. I've purchased 5 properties prior to this transaction & have never seen anything like it. I wouldn’t deal with these people again even if they were giving me the house for free. We first met with Julia Burd in the sales office. She seemed highly disinterested & it felt like we were inconveniencing her by being there, let alone asking her questions. We asked to discuss builder incentives & she pretty much told us that the houses were selling so quickly that they wouldn’t negotiate anything so don't bother. Interesting, since when we visited another Pulte neighborhood (Waterset), it was an entirely different experience. The sales consultant was personable - great sense of humor, enjoyable to work with & spent so much time answering questions, plugging in different scenarios, & discussing what we may be able to negotiate while also setting realistic expectations. It felt like he was advocating for us as buyers, which is how I believe it's supposed to be. Sadly, that neighborhood didn’t work as well for our family’s needs, but it was an entirely different experience. When deciding to revisit the Spencer Glen community we requested to work with someone different & were told that we couldn’t because we’d started with her already... but she did nothing besides begrudgingly show us a couple of homes & we didn’t sign any type of exclusivity agreement. Luckily my fiancé is patient because if it were just me, I would not have accepted this response. The loan process - the most disappointing. From inter-office to communication with us as the buyers, there was a major lack of communication throughout the process. The loan was in my fiance's name because I have several others in my name but both of us were to be on the title since we are still purchasing & co-owning the property together. This was communicated from day 1 of the 6 week process, so there's no excuse for why they waited until 6 DAYS before our closing to let us know that suddenly I can’t be on the title because we aren’t married yet (although we’re engaged & having a baby together). They said that this is an FHA rule but it’s ABSOLUTELY not, it’s lender specific. Regardless, it should have been communicated far earlier in the process so that we could decide how we wanted to handle it. It was actually not communicated to us at all - I was sent a DocuSign out of nowhere saying that I was being removed from the buyer’s contract, with no previous mention/explanation. Worse yet, 15 minutes before I received the DocuSign, I received the POA paperwork from Sierra Hardnett (Assistant Escrow Officer) to have notarized & sent back so that my fiancé could sign on my behalf since I couldn’t physically be at closing. If I was being removed from the contract/title, why would my signature be necessary? Still scrambled to get them notarized & sent back (given only 4 business days) because Colleen Lawless (Mortgage Advisor) said she was going to ‘check further into this’ & follow up, & of course NEVER did. Sierra Hardnett was still communicating with me about needing to have the documents before closing (which they did) up until closing - so clearly nobody was communicating within Pulte/PGP Title at all. Closing day - we get an email from Andrea Gomez ‘Andi’ saying that we can’t close today due to missing info with no details on said missing info. Then they let us know that the cash to close amount is actually going to be twice as much as what was stated on the closing disclosure that had been sent a few hours prior. Initially no explanation, & then later an explanation that still made no sense - ‘we needed to show that you had a certain amount of reserves in your assets, but you’ll get it refunded back from title today.’ Never heard of anything like that in my life & seems like just another unnecessary hoop created for us to jump through. So very disappointed in the entire process. Not sure if it’s an overall Pulte thing or specific to the team serving this neighborhood, but I would not recommend working with these people to my worst enemy.
