    While visiting my son who works at the VA, I had the opportunity to spend time at Bayou Point and had a positive experience. The property was clean, quiet, and conveniently located, making it easy to get around the area. I also appreciated how responsive and engaging the management team is with the community. Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay during my visit. — TheStripesInMe

    We lived at this complex for 4 years and truly loved it for most of our time there. We actually started our family here and even transferred into a bigger unit after having our second baby because we enjoyed living here that much. The community itself is great, maintenance was always awesome, and Luke in the front office has consistently been personable, professional, and willing to help. We referred multiple friends here over the years because we genuinely enjoyed living here. Unfortunately, things changed significantly once the new property manager, Waleska, took over. Almost immediately, the tone of the community shifted. Residents began receiving constant emails threatening fines for very minor things that had never been issues under previous management. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere that simply wasn’t there before. We also began experiencing legitimate issues in our unit, specifically with our AC system. There was a confirmed Freon leak, yet every time we brought up concerns to Waleska, there was pushback instead of resolution. It became incredibly frustrating trying to address real maintenance issues while simultaneously receiving constant warning emails about minor things. Another issue was the inconsistency with office availability. Since she was frequently covering another property, we regularly received notices that the office would unexpectedly be closed because she couldn’t make it in. Communication and management became noticeably disorganized. Over time, we watched many longtime residents move out due to frustration with the management changes, and several people mentioned receiving excessive move-out charges afterward. Sadly, we’ve now had the same experience ourselves. We decided not to renew our lease after only one year in our transferred unit. Before moving out, we went above and beyond cleaning the apartment, and staff had even reassured us multiple times that our unit was in very good condition. Despite that, we were charged a move-out fee — coincidentally the exact same carpet fee that many other former residents seem to be receiving. We took photos during move-out, and the carpet was in the same condition as when we moved in. It’s disappointing because this used to be a place we enthusiastically recommended to others. We made wonderful memories here and truly loved living here for years. Unfortunately, due to the current management experience, I can no longer recommend this complex while Waleska remains the property manager.

    I’ve done a lot of searching before my move to the area and no place has come to comparison like Bayou. I haven’t moved in yet, but during my tour I got the feeling that this is the one. Luke took good care of us and was very informative. I hope this apartment experience turns out to be great.

    I started working in St. Petersburg in February and was commuting every day from Tampa, dealing with heavy traffic. That’s when I decided it was time to find a place closer to work and improve my daily routine. After visiting several properties, I came across Bayou Point, where Luke gave me a tour. The first apartment I saw didn’t quite meet my expectations, as I had a clear idea of what I was looking for. However, Luke was very accommodating and offered to show me another unit—and that’s when everything changed. The second apartment had exactly what I was hoping for. I really want to highlight how clear, professional, and thorough Luke was throughout the entire process. He made everything easy and stress-free. I haven’t moved in yet, but so far my experience has been excellent. For now, I’m giving this place 5 stars and will update once I’m fully settled in.
