I honestly wish I could leave zero stars.
I have lived at The Landings at Pembroke Lakes for the past three years. Prior to Waterton taking over management, I truly loved living here. The management team was responsive, customer service was excellent, and if you had a question or concern, you could actually speak with someone and get timely assistance.
In the short time since Waterton assumed management, that experience has changed dramatically.
It is now extremely difficult to reach anyone. Calling the office routes you through an AI system, and it is nearly impossible to speak with an actual person. Even visiting the leasing office has become frustrating due to reduced office hours and limited availability.
The biggest issue has been the rent payment process. Last month, residents experienced significant problems because previous payment methods were eliminated, leaving us with only the new payment system. This month, on August 1, residents received notice that previously accepted payment methods were immediately discontinued, without what I believe was adequate advance notice to allow residents time to prepare. Changes that directly affect how people pay their rent should be communicated well in advance.
As someone who has always paid my rent and has been a good tenant, it is incredibly frustrating to have to chase down management simply to make a payment. No resident should have to worry about being charged late fees because management failed to provide an accessible payment process or reasonable communication.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I hope this serves as constructive feedback. Communication and customer service are two of the most important aspects of property management, and unfortunately, both have declined significantly under Waterton’s management.
Unless there are major improvements, I do not plan to renew my lease. That is disappointing because I genuinely enjoyed living here before these changes.
