TLDR to account for review length;
I work nights (usually 9pm-4am, or midnight-8am on weekends) and struggle to manage daytime activities as that's during my sleeping hours, and I work full-time mainly on the weekends.
My car received a tow warning due to my parking permit sticker being curled on 8/5. I received a new sticker during the day for $20 on 8/6; registered it, put it on my car, and went to bed. My car was towed Friday 8/6, which I noticed while trying to go to work, so I had to call out. 10am Saturday 8/7 I spoke with Dustin at the office and ASAP Towing on the phone where they both agreed it didn't seem like my car should have been towed. We got approval to reach out to the financial account manager between the office and ASAP Towing to try to resolve this situation. Due to it being a weekend, it was unable to be resolved until Monday, and due to the lack of sleep and distress I had to call out of work on Saturday and manage rides to and from on Sunday once I was able to scrounge together 3-4 hours of sleep at a time before approaching the office again Monday morning.
UPDATE as of 8/12/26;
On Monday 8/10 I returned to the front office to address the return of my car once again. Dustin was able to pull us back into an office and address the situation with us once again, and explain further details.
Apparently this situation occurred due to, when I was sleep deprived in the middle of my night, I entered one single number as "4" instead of "3" at the end of my license plate through the portal registration. Because of this, in my opinion very clear accident, my car was towed in result as it did not have a "proper permit" on their end.
I openly admitted to Dustin that I understood the mistake had to be accounted for, but I thought it was still ridiculous to have this whole situation occur when I've had a correct sticker previously to this whole debacle for 2 years, and how could it possibly benefit me to potentially "register a car with a different plate" one number off from mine?? When MY CAR was threatened to be towed, and I communicated that to the office when I purchased a new sticker??
I expressed that I understood, and was willing to pay a small fraction of the cost due to an error on my end, but was unwilling to pay for whole thing as I knew my car accrued even more costs over the weekend I was TOLD to not pay for on Saturday as I was garunteed to not being reimbursed if I did so.
Dustin told me Jason (the financial accounting manager) was able to adjust the tow to the originally $150 charge, and Dustin and his supporting office manager could reflect a $150 reduction due to us having only ever had one late rent payment in over 2 years where we did not use the $150 waiver. They also hoped id be willing to change my review to "5 stars".
After everything this weekend, if that all went to plan I was willing to accept the overall eventual neutralizing of this event so I could return back to my life and my job, and adjust my review accordingly.
I was able to pick up my car for the agreed $150. As I picked up my car they let me know they had just applied a lean that morning, meaning my total bill would have been OVER $600 had this not been resolved the way it did. My account has now been reflected to account for this issue, officially resolving this situation as much as possible.
Dustin and his office manager did what they could with the event with their limitations, and ASAP Towings employees were as kind and understandable as they could be considering. I felt they were as supportive as they could be, although I cannot speak on anyone above them being willing to reach out personally themselves to fix or adjust the situation in a human way. I can thank Dustin for being able to handle it all with as much authenticity and kindness as he was able to during his work days. For them, I've adjusted to a 3 start review with a warning to those interested in living here to be on top of every detail, as human mistakes even approached with grace on our end are only considered to the degree you see here.
