ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY FROM CLAYTON HOMES! They will sell you a lemon. We bought our first home and admittedly we were ignorant and new parents. As excited as we we're to move into a new home we allowed ourselves to be mislead. They offer a 1 year maintenance policy and will drag out the process to fix anything IF they even fix it. They sold us a floor model home and never stated that until they day of closing. We signed off on buying it as is believing that they would own up to any issues that arise and fix them. THEY WILL NOT. In fact we were told that we signed off on it and that anything they do to our home is just a courtesy. Save yourself the stress of have to fix their poorly built homes.

Maybe could have been a higher star review but upon going to this mobile home business, none of the models were opened and available to be viewed and we don't want to have to go asking to view every model or be followed around while looking.

My original review I typed up was too long, so here is a short version.
Visited Clayton Homes September 2, 2023 and met with Grant. Only spoke about 1 home and nothing else. Signed documents and paid for the home, IN FULL (bad idea) on September 20, 2023. Home was ordered and then delivered to my uncles property on December 11th. Permits were submitted first days of January and permits approved January 8, 2024. It came to my attention on January 10th that the home on the property is not the home I chose and purchased. When I inquired about this, I was told a whole strew of lies to cover up their mistake.
Let me give a bit of a background; In August 2023, Hurricane Idalia came through the area. During the storm, it knocked over a tree on my grandmother (who was 100 at the time) and uncle's (who is disabled) mobile home, making them needing to leave the home as they could no longer live there. Thankfully we were able to get them into a rental home for the time being while I looked to secure them a new home.
So this home is not for me, but for my grandma and uncle. They have had a rough couple of years with my aunt (who also used to live with them) passing away in March and then my father passing away in May, just months from each other. Then with the hurricane happening and them having to be displaced, I wanted to do something nice for them ( I know my dad would have done the same if he could).
From this moment on, everything became a snowball. To say I was mad, is an understatement. I was immediately put in touch with Michael.
Michael and I agreed to meet in person at the home to where we would discuss everything. He came in with a piece of paper which supposedly I saw and wrote on (per his office's word). I had my own paperwork to which I had my writing on along with BJ's and you could clearly see who's writing was who's on the paper of layout of the home (which I never saw). Word of advice, make sure they show you and you sign the layout of the home that you are purchasing to avoid problems.
When Michael realized the handwriting was not mine, he folded the paper and asked me, how can we make this better? We toured the home and I specified what needed to be done to which he agreed upon. I also made it very clear that we needed this to move along quickly as my grandmother and uncle needed to be back in their home. At the end of our meeting, Michael handed me money and a gift card to Lowe's from my "trouble". I did not feel comfortable or think this was the right thing to do as it seems he was trying to bribe me. I told him that I did not want to accept this but he insisted. I have yet to touch the money or gift card.
Our meeting happened on January 13th and they finally received their keys March 25th. I do not believe that they had any urgency for them as they were already paid.
Also, at the welcome home walk through, they give everyone a gift card for Lowes. Make sure you check the balance on that before going to the store as the one given had no money on it which means my family had to pay out of pocket for their purchases.
Two things I am happy I did were: getting EVERYTHING IN WRITING. I got to where I no longer accepted speaking to them verbally and would only communicate via text/email. I also hired a private Home Inspector and had him come out 3 times to make sure Clayton Homes took care of everything that was in the report.
Buyer Beware, this was the worst experience I've ever had with a company and I was so excited to be officially done with them!

We are moving to the area from Indiana. We are working with Dave Lombard on the purchase of our new home. We first met Dave in June when we came to explore the area and our options. Dave was great about answering our questions and ensuring us we would be taken care of. He didn't try to pressure us into buying anything we didn't want or could afford. We returned to Indiana for the summer. During the months we contacted Dave several times with questions. He was always helpful and answered us in a timely manner. Not knowing the area very well or a lot of people, it was important for us to get in contact with someone we felt we could trust. We got that feeling with Dave and he has not disappointed us. He is taking care of us and doing everything in his power to ensure this process is moving along. I highly recommend Clayton Homes of Homosassa.
