Telling people who came here on an investor visa that they are not qualified to pay rent must be the most ridiculous response in the world.

Our application process with Palmera was a complete disappointment. We are a family in the U.S. on an investor visa, and because our English is not fluent, it was difficult for us to get clear information. Despite that, especially the supervisor did not help us at all and did not even properly deal with us.
When we went to the office on Monday, the supervisor simply turned us away by saying, “The person who was helping you should give you the information.” Even though they all use the same system, she did not even try to give us any information about our application.
This process caused us to lose 8 days. Since we were waiting to hear back from them, we could not apply anywhere else. We are staying in a hotel with our family, so we also had to pay hotel expenses while waiting. On top of that, we still do not know what will happen to the $600 we paid for the application. We lost both time and money. This was a very poor experience in terms of communication, follow-up, and professionalism.

I have lived at Palmera since 2021. I chose this community because of its excellent location and because, at the time, it was a well-maintained property. Unfortunately, over the years my experience has changed completely due to poor management.
At the end of 2023, I requested a transfer to a fifth-floor apartment. The management made a mistake and leased the same unit to both me and another resident. They apologized and assured me that, once another unit became available, I would be able to transfer.
Recently, I tried to move forward with that agreement, but I was simply told it was no longer possible.
I tried every available channel to resolve the situation. On June 9, I sent an email and never received a response. I then reached out through social media, again without any reply. Finally, I went to the leasing office in person. The experience was extremely unprofessional. We were not even invited to sit down to discuss the issue. The manager remained seated behind her desk while we stood at the office door during the entire conversation.
Her explanation was that they are now a different management company and therefore could not honor the previous agreement. Regardless of management changes, when a company takes over a property, it also assumes the responsibility of maintaining a good relationship with its residents. They told me they would look into possible alternatives, but just three days later the available apartment was already gone.
At this point, I feel I have exhausted every reasonable attempt to seek a solution. Unfortunately, it seems the focus is on attracting new residents rather than taking care of those of us who have lived here for years.
Even more concerning is the obvious deterioration of the common areas. It is difficult to understand how management allows residents to live in a building where it is common to find trash, animal waste, and even urine in the elevators. The photos attached were all taken today in the same area, and we had already informed management about the unsanitary conditions three days earlier. Considering the rent residents pay, this is simply unacceptable.
I moved to Palmera because it was a beautiful, well-maintained community. The apartments themselves still have great potential, but the quality of the management and property maintenance has declined significantly.
It is truly disappointing.
This building has very poor management and maintenance service. There are no security cameras, which makes residents feel unsafe and unprotected.
The office and maintenance staff are extremely inefficient. Packages are constantly misplaced, and there are two towers with identical apartment numbers, which causes constant confusion. I have had deliveries mistakenly brought to my door at 12 AM and even 3 AM. On several occasions, I have received large grocery deliveries that were not mine, while my own packages were delivered to the wrong tower.
Common areas are not properly cleaned. Hallways often remain dirty for days, while management seems to focus only on keeping the lobby clean.
Parking is also poorly controlled, with no clear rules and vehicles sometimes driving at unsafe speeds.
My washer has been broken for over 15 days without a proper solution or repair. During this time, I was temporarily given access to another apartment to use the laundry. However, today I went and found it completely locked and inaccessible. I had even left my clothes and laundry detergent inside.
It feels extremely disrespectful that I was not informed about this change. When I contacted the office on Sunday, I was told it was “not an emergency,” which shows a lack of communication, organization, and consideration for residents.
Overall, the building has serious issues with safety, maintenance, and management that need to be addressed.
