I haven’t moved in yet, but I wanted to leave a review about my experience so far, especially with Jason Martinez in the leasing office.
We all know moving isn’t easy, and when we call a place, we want to speak to a real person and not just AI or someone rushing us off the phone. Thankfully, I got Jason, and let me tell you how awesome he has been throughout this process. He honestly helped lessen a lot of my moving anxiety.
Jason showed me three different apartments over two different days and never made me feel rushed or pressured. He was patient, answered all of my questions, and worked around my schedule. He even spoke with Erica, the manager, to help work something out for me, which I really appreciated.
He took the time to show me the entire property and explained everything clearly, including resident responsibilities and what to expect moving forward. While touring, I also noticed how friendly the maintenance staff were around the property.
I emailed Jason multiple times throughout the process, and he was always quick to respond and very helpful. You can tell he genuinely cares about the community. One thing that stood out to me was seeing residents stopping by the office to say hi to him. That says a lot.
I’m excited to move in and look forward to updating my review after I’ve settled in.
Family and I have lived here for 3 years and we all love it!! We just hate that their pool is freezing cold, really hard to enjoy

I have lived at Shalimar for over three years and it has been so great. The leasing team is attentive and on top of things at all times. For starters Johnny the head of maintenance goes above and beyond for the residence and the community. You can really see how he loves what he does and knows how to do it well. The maintenance work he does is always flawless and he makes sure that the residence are happy with the work completed. If there is an issue he takes care or it right away. Without Johnny the building would not be how it is and the residence love having him.
Jason in the leasing office is the absolute best! So accommodating and happy! The maintenance staff, especially Johnny, are phenomenal! They keep the property clean and well maintained. The community is quiet and safe! I love living at Shalimar!
This is a very nice and small apartment community. Below are my pros and cons to living in this community.
Pros:
- Very well kept community
- Maintenance is quick and responsive
- Property Management is also quick and responsive
- I dont know if I had really quiet neighbors, but I never heard anything through the walls, which is not heard of in apartment living
- The appliances were nice except for the fridge, which was a bit noisy
- Always ample parking without the hassle of signing guests in or having a decal.
- Valet trash, which is always a plus
- Luxor one lockers so your packages are always safe
- They have events and food trucks and keep the residents engaged
Cons:
- Maintenance comes into your apartment once a month for "inspections".
They say they are conducting inspections Monday through Friday of the following week but are not specific about which day they will come into your apartment, which to me is devious as per Florida State Law they must give you 24hr notice before entering your specific* unit. When I watched one of the strangers coming into my home through the camera, he literally did nothing but walk around my apartment with a flash light, I don't know what kind of inspection that was, but nonetheless, it seemed more like a creep in my apartment than an actual maintenance man doing inspections.
Please note that since property management already gave you a week range of when they would enter your apartment, they don't deem it necessary to call before entering, so if you're laying on your couch naked any day that falls between Monday and Friday, too bad, they are coming in. And if you’re not there? Oh well they’re also coming in. I have expensive things in my apartment that I work hard for and I also enjoy my privacy. I do not appreciate staff entering whenever they want throughout the week.
Overall the community is a great place to live if you don't mind strangers coming into your apartment every month at random times.
