I agree with many of the comments I’ve seen posted. This was originally a very nice, clean, calm, safe place to live. In more recent years, it has gone down hill significantly as old tenants moved out and new ones moved in. Where I would have given this apartment 4.5 stars previously, I now give it 2. The maintenance team is excellent and the cleaning crew does what it can but when vandalism is involved it’s out of their hands. Take a tour of this place and you will find the walls of the elevator scratched and written on, tape and glue keeping the fob readers attached to main doors, and a filthy ground in the stairwell, parking garage and loading dock. The gym is still thankfully well maintained, likely because children aren’t allowed in unsupervised. The units themselves are very well constructed and the appliances are top of the line which is hard to fin with new construction. The complex is situated on the original Walter Reed campus which is gorgeous. It’s a great place to have a dog. Excellent location for access to grocery stores, rock creek park and the metro.

This was the worst apartment experience I had ever had. I lived here for over 2 years and saw the quality of the building gradually decline over that time. Please take the time to read these concerns and take heed.
There were vehicle break-ins in the garage, which is likely exacerbated by the fact that the garage gates were often broken. The trash rooms are disgusting. There was pet urine and feces in the parking garage when pet owners did not feel like taking their pets to designated pet relief areas.
The buttons on the elevator are often broken and the elevators themselves rarely work. When we moved out, we attempted to reserve an elevator and were told that they no longer reserve elevators because certain tenants complained. We had to incur additional moving fees due to the building refusing to allow us to reserve an elevator for moving.
I had several packages "disappear" while living at this property. One package was miraculously found in the management office after I filed a police report due to the value of the item. It was a roll of the dice whether we would actually get our packages. Several packages have been ripped open in the package room (where there are cameras) and there is very little done about it.
There also seems to be a program allowing severely disabled persons to live in the apartments without the support they need, as this is not a personal care facility. I have seen people in wheelchairs sat in the lobby for hours at a time smelling as if they had soiled themselves. I have also seen several disabled tenants not able to get their mail or use their key fob to operate the elevator. They resorted to yelling for the front desk person to assist. It is clear that these residents need nursing support, but it seems the building cares more about securing guaranteed payment than anything else.
Additionally, this is the loudest place I have ever lived. There is constant noise from every direction. The windows do not insulate sound well. The walls are thin. There were times I could clearly hear my neighbors cough at normal volume because of how thin the walls are. There is constant running in the halls and children are rarely supervised. If your unit faces the blue top parking area, prepare to hear loud, piercing beeps from garbage trucks that seem to come daily at very early hours.
I NEVER felt safe living in this apartment. I was verbally assaulted and threatened by a mentally ill resident and there was very little done to address the situation. Instead, the management told me the tenant was normally a "very nice guy" despite him also having physically assaulted a member of the building staff.
Lastly, the swimming pool is the size of a bathtub. It is a pool by technicality, but it is truly a disappointment.
Do not pay full price for this apartment. Only live here if it is subsidized because you will feel like you did not get what you paid for after a while.

My family just moved there so I was only a visitor. The building is absolutely beautiful. I love it.
