  I’ve asked multiple times about lowering the temperature on the AC. Everyone I talk to here agrees that it’s way too hot. They had the building at a sort of comfortable temperature but this past week they turned the AC back down and it’s way too hot. Every time I ask about making it more comfortable they just say we’ll look into, or I’ll let management know and they suggest to buy a portable ac unit. You shouldn’t have to force your tenants to buy portable AC United when you advertise working building AC. It’s 79 degrees in my apartment. Make it comfortable for your tenants. It’s supposed to be 100 degrees this week so it needs to be fixed asap.

  worst apartment ever. Roaches everywhere. Halway carpet broken and never fixed. drity room. drains clogged. windows dirty. no A/C during early summer/spring. it was hot in room. all tenants are rude and look sad. Dark hallways and rooms. trashroom disgusting and roaches everywhere too.

  Anyone who says there is a 'roach' infestation is LYING!...I am a 5 year resident and have (maybe) seen a total of 5 bugs...2 in the hallway...and I don't count that as infestation...I count that as inconsiderate tenants who leave their garbage in an area near door when they should have the decency to just take their trash outside and put it in the dumpster. Those tenants are what causes and encourages infestion. You can't beat the location or the price. I NEVER had any management or maintenance issues in 5 years!!! LaShawn cares about the residents and always responds if you have any questions or concerns...Lots of other places in DC cost over $2k and have worse issues. Nothing can beat walking to GW University right across the street or the Lincoln Memorial 4 blocks away or the Capitol and Washington Monument 1-2 miles away. Perfect for the Sat/Sunday protestor!!!

  I lived at Empire Apartments for the past six years, and my experience was excellent. The administrative team and staff have always been incredibly professional, responsive, and genuinely kind, which made a big difference in my day-to-day living experience. The location is another major highlight, being close to the main monuments in Washington, DC and within walking distance of George Washington University makes it both convenient and enjoyable to live here. Empire Apartments is a fantastic place to call home. I’ve recommended it many times to friends and colleagues looking for a place in the city, and I would gladly continue to do so. Just a couple of recommendations: ask management if you can buy a portable air conditioner and a small fridge. If they allow it, please buy those ASAP.

  I have lived here for almost a year now and loved every second of it. For the room you’re getting at the price point, it’s unbeatable in NorthWest DC. Furthermore the amenities such as the gym and rooftop have been a huge benefit to have in-building, especially during the winter. What really makes Empire special though is the staff, LaShawn and her team work tirelessly to keep the building clean and running. I’ve never had a maintenance request take longer than 24 hours, and the building has been spotless since the day I moved in.
