I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jasmine, the property manager at Vermeer! From the very beginning of my transition, she has been extremely helpful, professional, patient, and genuinely caring. She went above and beyond to make what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and comfortable. I was transitioning from an awful living situation, and finding Vermeer has truly been a blessing. Jasmine played such a huge role in helping me feel confident and welcomed throughout the entire process. She was always available to answer my questions, address my concerns, and make sure I felt supported every step of the way. Because of the experience I’ve had with Jasmine and the Vermeer community, I no longer look at this as simply another place to live, I truly look at Vermeer as my “forever home”. That says a lot! Jasmine is an absolute asset to Vermeer. Her kindness, professionalism, communication, and dedication to her residents do not go unnoticed. I am so grateful for everything she has done to help make this transition such a positive experience. Thank you, Jasmine, for making me feel at home! You are truly appreciated! -Brenda

The only good things about this building are the front desk staff and the two maintenance guys — they're responsive and hardworking. Everything else was a nightmare, mainly because of management. Main issues: - Air conditioning broken for months - Wifi "choice" turned into a hidden fee - Parking issues on game days - Management unresponsive to nearly everything AC:Our unit fluctuated between 72 and 82 degrees depending on the outside heat, even though we had it set to 70 and it would never get there. Maintenance came out multiple times, but the issue was never actually fixed. Management blamed the high heat outside — which is funny, because our neighbor was able to keep their unit at 67 degrees with no problems at all, and our current apartment has dealt with even hotter temperatures with the AC set to 68 and works perfectly fine. So we know it wasn't the weather, it was their unit. Meanwhile our electric bill approached $300 in summer for a 700 sq ft apartment. The only reason we got any response at all was after I emailed the CEO directly. Wifi: We were told we could keep our own wifi provider, so we did. A few months in, we noticed a hidden "miscellaneous" fee — turned out to be a wifi charge. Our provider told us to take it up with the property. Management said once that they'd "reach out to the person in charge of the account" and then went silent. Months later, the Xfinity account manager held a resident breakfast, and when we brought it up, she told us she'd never even been informed we were having a problem. Parking: We paid $300/month for parking, and on game days the lot got packed with so many people that you literally couldn't get your car out. Paying that much and still being trapped in your own parking spot is unacceptable. Building culture / safety: A lot of residents don't respect the building or each other. Doors left propped open, tape over door entrances, decorations stolen off doors. The upstairs common space gets trashed from parties. Fast food trash scattered in the halls multiple times a week. Kids running the halls unsupervised, dogs off-leash on the roof, people walking around late at night in ski masks. One football Sunday, our game got interrupted by police banging on our door — because a small child was wandering the halls alone. Hallways and stairwells regularly smelled like weed, with visible smoke and cigarette butts. Management said they were aware and wanted to look into it — but never did. The cleaning staff, on the other hand, are the best I've ever seen — genuinely saints for keeping up with how trashed people leave this place. Worth noting they're not even employed by Vermeer, which is probably part of why they're so good. Management, overall: Multiple emails, no response, no accountability. If you actually went down to the office to talk in person, they'd suddenly be "unavailable." Even moving out was a mess — the new building needed proof of paid bills from this property, and the assistant manager ignored repeated requests from us and from the new leasing office, only later saying she "wasn't allowed" to send it and her boss was on vacation — instead of telling us that up front. They're good at throwing fun resident events, amazing front desk and cleaning staff . That's about it. We are very glad to leave after a year and being one of the first to live there.

The property management staff are what makes living at Vermeer so great! From our amazing and helpful receptionists Tarik and Maria, to our events specialist Jasmine, as well as our maintenance manager Richard, make the community welcoming and a great place to live at. - Tarik, aside from his great fashion sense, is always friendly, personable and willing to help. - Maria is a gentle soul and always helpful. Between the both of them, they create a welcoming community as soon as you step into the building! Our property maintenance and housekeeping staff are also an underrated but integral part of our community and do an amazing job of keeping everything running. Major shout out to Richard, the manager for being authentic, friendly and quick to help! Big shout out to Jasmine - she wears many hats but does an amazing job of keeping every community event fun! She plays the central role in connecting residents with one another! Lastly, Mike, Beth and Ju'Rod - our leasing office crew. Thank you for always being so prompt and personable to approach. Overall, it's the authenticity of each of the individuals mentioned above that make Vermeer a great place to live. Their ability to make an apartment building feel like a community is no easy feat and I can't compliment them enough in what a great job they all do. Don't let the shiny, gorgeous layout of the property fool you - behind it are an amazing set of authentic individuals that play an important role in the living environment here.

I cannot say enough good things about Ju'Rod! He is incredibly knowledgeable about the community, the neighborhood, and every floor plan. This was by far one of the best apartment touring experiences I've ever had, even after touring dozens of buildings. Initially, it was his email that caught my attention, and from there everything exceeded my expectations. He even gave us an in-person tour that wasn't originally scheduled! He was so patient, kind, and thorough, showing my boyfriend and me several apartment homes until we found the perfect one. The assistant manager was also wonderful—very welcoming, personable, and great to talk to. Overall, this community is a bit more competitively priced than some others, but to me, the exceptional customer service and genuine attentiveness make it absolutely worth it. The building truly sells itself, but I can't speak highly enough about the incredible team. They made the entire experience memorable, and I would highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a new home!

I’ve been living at The Vermeer for a year now and still have another year to go, and I honestly couldn't be happier with my experience. The front desk staff here is amazing, especially Maria. She is always super helpful and greets everyone with the biggest smile. I also want to give a major shoutout to Jasmine, the ASSISTANT COMMUNITY MANAGER, and Ju Rod. They both go above and beyond to keep things running smoothly. Jasmine plans and runs all the resident events, and she does such a great job bringing everyone together. If you are looking for a great spot to live in DC, I definitely recommend checking out The Vermeer!
