My wife and I lived at Merion Stratford for a year. It was a great experience that was unfortunately cut short by a necessary move. While I always had positive experiences with the staff, I would like to acknowledge two people who made our experience as good as it could be- Susan and Eli. In the few instances where issues arose, Susan and Eli were so quick to respond and rectify any problems. They also respected our needs and boundaries as tenants, which is not always the case in apartment living. Thank you both, Susan and Eli for making the last year such a wonderful experience. Merion is lucky to have you both!
After reading last review, I cannot disagree more with the gentleman that wrote it. Since Susan’s arrival last summer she has been nothing but proactive. She always responds and follows up timely. We enjoy resident events monthly. We never had this before. Parking is now being enforced because of Susan. I would come home from work only to find guests and non-residents occupying designated resident spaces. Visitors are now required to park in designated visitor parking area. The kids visit the office daily as soon as they get off the bus to enjoy lollipops and hot chocolate in the winter months. She also has dog treats!
I have witnessed first-hand the residents that don’t feel they need to follow the rules are the ones that take issue with Susan. She runs a tight ship. She’s firm but fair and cares about the residents and their needs.
Just the other day, Susan was chasing down a bus driver in her car for a child that was late getting to the bus stop. Mission accomplished! I have also witnessed her sweeping a resident’s porch and watering their plant in their absence.
I have not experienced what was described in the last post at all.
Susan should be commended for a job well done!

Susan from the main office at Marion Stratford has to be one of the most disrespectful people I have ever dealt with in my life.
Her attitude is absolutely disgusting. The way she talks to people and carries herself is beyond unprofessional. I came into the office expecting to be treated like a resident and a human being, but instead I was treated like I was beneath her, like I didn’t matter at all.
I’ve dealt with all kinds of people from all walks of life, and I can honestly say I’ve received more respect from correctional officers and inmates than I received from Susan. That’s how bad the experience was.
There was no compassion, no professionalism, and not even a basic level of human decency. Every interaction felt cold, dismissive, and intentionally disrespectful. Nobody should ever be made to feel like trash for simply asking questions or addressing concerns where they live.
Marion Stratford should be embarrassed that someone with this kind of attitude is representing their company. If this is the standard of treatment residents can expect, then management has a serious problem on its hands.
Respect costs nothing, but apparently that’s too expensive for Susan.
Spoke with a very rude woman who said her name was Susan She was rude and talked over me would not let me speak and I felt discriminated against becuase of my accent!!! She said Sir i cannot understand you and HUNG UP on me!!! YES HUNG UP ON ME. If she let me speak she could understand me! Worst custmer service ever
