Four years at Tempo, and I've renewed every time. That's probably the most honest review I can give.
The location is the reason. Whole Foods, Starbucks, Club Studio, and Costco are all walking distance, plus everything else at Evergreen Walk. I commute 40 miles each way, every day, and I still won't move. That's how much living here is worth to me. The apartments back it up. The finishes hold up over four years, and the clubhouse and gym are excellent.
What actually kept me here, though, is the people. Jessica in the leasing office works harder than anyone I've dealt with in property management. She's burning the midnight oil, she answers, and she fixes things instead of managing them. She also puts real effort into the monthly resident events, from flower arranging to everything else, and it shows.
The result is that this is an actual community, not just a building. Residents look out for each other and share the space. I reserved the cinema room for the FIFA World Cup and opened it up to anyone who wanted to come. A room full of neighbors watching together. That happens here.
One honest gripe: Tesla charging used to be free for residents and is going to paid. Genuine bummer, and I'd like to see that revisited.
Still five stars.

I moved in this week to Tempo, and I could not be happier. Jessica and the leasing team went above and beyond in helping getting me settled in for my stay here, in very short order. I am thankful for their efforts, and I would HIGHLY recommend this upscale community if life takes you to South Windsor, Connecticut. First class all the way!
I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this place because my experience was consistently frustrating from start to finish.
From the moment I moved in, package delivery and storage was a mess. Packages were left everywhere—large, small, and everything in between—and there was no reliable system to actually keep track of them. It was not unusual to hear that a package was “somewhere in the office” or still with maintenance. At one point, I had to buy my own dolly just to get a heavy delivery up to my second-floor apartment because there was no help available.
Maintenance support was extremely limited. It often felt like there was barely anyone on-site, and when issues came up, they were slow to be addressed or remained unresolved for long periods of time. There was a noticeable lack of support staff, which showed in how long everyday problems would linger.
Amenities were also inconsistent. When I first moved in, several gym machines were out of order for months. At one point, two out of three treadmills were not working for an extended period of time. The pool was occasionally closed due to water quality issues, which made it unreliable during the summer.
Cleanliness and upkeep of shared spaces was another ongoing issue. The dog park frequently had overflowing trash bins, and waste was not consistently managed. Outdoor areas could become unpleasant, especially in hot weather. In the clubhouse and gym areas, there was often no supervision, and cleanliness standards depended heavily on other residents rather than staff enforcement.
The leasing office experience felt disorganized and inconsistent. There seemed to be frequent turnover, and communication around resident concerns was often unclear or delayed. While there were occasional improvements over time—such as the addition of Amazon lockers, which helped with package deliveries—the core issues with management and maintenance remained.
At move-out, I also did not receive my full security deposit back. Waiting on an invoice for what I had to pay for after cleaning my apartment from top to bottom. They use your money to flip the apartments, or so it seems.
Overall, the property presents itself one way, but the day-to-day experience did not match that presentation. I would strongly encourage anyone considering living here to look very closely at recent reviews and ask detailed questions before signing a lease.
Piece of Manhattan here in South Windsor without all the problems you get being in Manhattan. Who can resist this deal?

I lived at Tempo for over 19 months and had to move across the country for a job. I thought renewing my lease for a second year would count for something but instead: I have paid rent for the past 4 months without actually living in the Apartment and been charged amenities fees yet I do not live in CT anymore to partake in any of those amenities, I have been paying utilities including water and sewer. It is one thing to pay for gas and electric because those things have to stay running but I do not see why I still have to pay for water and sewer without using either for the past 4 months. The most egregious of all is that I have been expected to pay for April Rent yet the apartment has been re-leased. I have never heard of any complex holding a unit for a month and a half but I guess they are able to do that because they have me paying for the unit without living in it anyway. So be advised it is not worth the trouble.
