Seeing Ken’s most recent review was extremely validating. **Ken’s review has disappeared not more than a day after being posted.**
I have also lived at Highcroft for just shy of a decade, and friends and I who live here have made the same observations that Ken has made, as stated in his review. This includes but is not limited to:
- unfair and rude treatment by the property manager, Barbara, despite discovering that others received better treatment. For example: getting high rent increases when others get low. Getting treated disrespectfully when others are treated with kindness.
- I also observed the new maintenance manager being unusually nosy and stand-off-ish. E.g. being accused of doing something you weren’t.
- the property being poorly taken care of. For example: the pool not being clean, outdoor umbrellas and coverings getting destroyed, plants not being cared for properly (all of the beautiful rose bushes died), and siding on the buildings being ripped off and never fixed, to name a few.
- another major thing that has been going on, is that all of the heating/cooling systems here have been inoperable. Many if not all of the residents here lost heat and hot water during the coldest frozen months of winter, or lost air conditioning during the hottest months of summer. Like Ken said in his review, the hallway air conditioners were broken for years, and are just now getting fixed. On top of all of this, the fireplace was also broken for years and is repeatedly breaking - no one ever gets to enjoy the amenities we are promised and paying for.
** To provide some clarity and validation to the reviewer Ken, prospective residents, and current residents, this is the reason why Highcroft has 5 star reviews and you only find out just how bad it is until you live here:
*Residents complain, and the management sends a mutual non disparaging agreement to the complaining residents. Said residents receive a credit of varying amounts, in exchange for their promise to not talk poorly about the business LLC.
They are also deleting negative reviews. I vividly remember a negative review from “Bill” a few years ago, and it was removed shortly after seeing it.
Many friends of mine and myself love Highcroft, but we do not like what has happened since Eagle Rock has taken over. Proceed with caution. It was unfortunate to be put in a position to leave this beautiful place called home.
