This place sucks, do not rent there, as big as this complex is they only have one camera for each complex. Thieves broke into my husbands car, 2 cars were stolen the same day. Called the police and didn’t even have a camera to cover the footage

I lived at Town Walk for about three years, and I can honestly say my experience was nothing short of great. From the very first tour of the available apartments to my entire time living there—and even after moving out—the staff was always professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They made the entire process, from move-in to move-out, as smooth as possible. The maintenance team also deserves a special shoutout. They were always responsive, courteous, and quick to resolve any issues. It’s clear that everyone at Town Walk takes pride in the community and truly cares about the residents. If you’re looking for a place to live in the Hamden area, I highly recommend Town Walk. It was a great place to call home, and I’m grateful for the positive experience I had there.

I’ve lived here for almost 4 years and the place has really grown on me. It’s not cheap but within average price range for most apartments right now. The complex is quite large and can be difficult to navigate if you aren’t familiar with it, and there’s almost no cell service inside the complex, so deliveries and visits from family or friends can get complicated at times. Other than that, I enjoy this complex quite a bit. The apartments themselves are average and are built decently, but they’re pretty small with tiny kitchens and tiny rooms. Nothing special. A lot of people do live here, and the location is nice and kind of secluded up in the Hamden Hills area. Everyone is nice and friendly, maintenance keeps up with the property and is very communicative. They keep it nice and the grass is always trimmed, flowerbeds are always pretty with fresh mulch, and there are nice trails all around the complex that are paved and well-lit. The reason this place is worth the money is its amenities. They have two in-ground pools that are both beautifully maintained and recently renovated, a big gym with a cool yoga studio, an indoor basketball court, tennis court, a coffee bar (with a fridge/freezer/sink & a large flatscreen TV) business lounge (with Wi-Fi), mini library, bathrooms with showers, a doggy bathing suite, gazebos, grills, picnic tables, a playground, a pond, and a dog park. Everything is kept very clean and there are always people cleaning the place up and making sure things are nice and fresh. You use a key FOB to buzz into a majority of the amenities. I believe there is a clubhouse on the other side of the complex but I’m not sure. You’ll have to check the website. They just built some new apartments after the old ones burnt down (unfortunately), but they have hardwood floors apparently, unlike most of the units they have already which are carpeted except for the kitchen and the bathroom. Also the leasing office is always open and the people who work there are very friendly. They are very responsive and helpful whenever you need anything. The mailing system can be a bit complicated, since there’s a mail room in the leasing office (very high-tech, you use a QR code to get in and the room actually speaks to you as a laser points out your package for your convenience) a personal mailbox, as well deliveries to your door. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out where your package went, but when you get a package in the mail room you get an email with a QR code to login. Only thing is that if the leasing office is closed you have to wait til the next day to grab your package. When Amazon delivers they sometimes toss the packages on the ground in front of your building instead of near your door, so you have to go searching for your package sometimes. The great thing is that no one around here steals, makes a mess, or makes a lot of noise. Everyone is polite and most people are working-class individuals or young couples with children. All units have a porch (or what you might call a small slab of concrete, the quality depends on your location) with a sliding door that opens to the bedroom and built in shades for both the sliding door and the living room (these can break easily so be careful with them, maintenance came to fix mine a few times). There is a storage closet located on each porch that you will receive a key to, which is nice to store outdoor things or whatever you want to keep easily accessible. The temperature inside the units is always perfect and the thermostat always works properly. Nice and cool in the summer, nice and toasty in the winter. The kitchens are small but do have a dishwasher with washer/dryers located in a closet nearby. There is a walk-in closet in the bedroom, but if you get a 2-bedroom, the smaller bedroom does not have a walk-in closet, just a regular closet. The only issue I have is the apartments lack enough storage for everything I own, and I don’t own a lot. Overall, this place is great but only if you use the amenities.

We had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Town Walk at Hamden. At first, we were told there was a one month free promotion for a unit. We asked for a virtual tour, and it took them two days just to send a video. After finally seeing the apartment, we decided we liked it and wanted to move forward. Then suddenly we were told the promotion was no longer available. Even though it already felt unprofessional, we still accepted the higher price and continued with the application process. We completed long forms, provided financial information, went through bank and background checks. After all of that, when they finally sent the lease contract, the rent had increased again by almost $200 more. We called to ask what happened, and unbelievably they told us the prices had changed again while THEY themselves were still preparing the contract. Changing prices multiple times during the process, especially after applications, credit checks, and approvals, is extremely unprofessional and honestly unethical. It felt like a complete waste of our time, energy, and personal information. Very disappointing experience. And it is more disappointing when it is ONE DAY BEFORE MOVE-IN DATE.

We lived here for almost 5 years while my girlfriend went to college. -Office team: nice -Maintenance team: fantastic -Nature in the complex/location: amazing -Owners/Management: downfall of this complex We were in building 27 (the one that caught on fire in 2023) Luckily ours was in the half untouched by the flames. When it happened the fire alarms didn’t even go off, my girlfriend woke up hours later to knocks on the door. They then fenced off that entire half of the building including the parking lot. It stayed like that until about a year later when they finally started construction. Construction lasted over a year, it was constant banging beginning at 7am ending around 5/6pm. They ripped off our roof debris flying everywhere getting stuck in the trees and all over our decks which I had to sweep everyday of siding, roof, screws, and dust. After doing the roof came the siding which they were right outside our windows banging for weeks. They must’ve hired the cheapest construction people they could find because they used the wrong screw sizes and drilled MANY screws fully through our walls and into the sides of our windows. Knocking decorations off the walls in the process. Apartments got put up for lease in fall of 2025. Doing the math, that is 2.5 years of ripping my hair out. The entire time living here I had to fight for parking spots and often parked buildings away while we began paying 20 dollars per car (the first couple years we didn’t have to pay) they are increasing that too this year. No compensation or acknowledgement for the inconvenience this whole experience brought our building and surrounding neighbors. This place is falling apart, you would think for the amount of apartments and rent they get (about 42 apartments per building and there’s 28 buildings) they’d be able to upkeep it and more. I was a dog walker for multiple clients throughout the complex and the inconsistencies in the apartments always amazed me. Everything gets painted over, light switches, outlets, bugs, hair, dust you name it. So many people are dealing with mold and water damage. The windows don’t close completely the screens are falling apart, the popcorn ceiling is falling off. The dog park is just a small fenced in area full of mulch, tree roots, holes, and poop. The playground is a tiny area of mulch with a slide and swings. Our stairs broke in half and the others will definitely be crumbling soon. Many others around the complex have also. The siding is falling off. This place is old and outdated, you can hear every neighbor through the walls and floors, the floors creak with every step. We also dealt with bug issues every single summer. Fruit flies, drain flies, fungus gnats, bottle flies. It doesn’t matter how much we cleaned or what we did it was bad every single time. What I can say is our move out process was honestly very easy which I am grateful for. The best thing here was the maintenance team was always kind and responsive. The community here is also for the most part super friendly. Only people who have lived here long truly know what it used to be like vs how it is now. There’s a Facebook group for the tenants by the tenants. Everyone I know including all of my dog clients has moved out. Some parts of me will miss this place but mostly it’ll be relieving.
