Still recovering, and rebuilding our life after losing everything due to an apartment fire about a month ago at the Ledges. My boyfriend & I had signed a 10 month lease with the ledges. Within the first month we had too many encounters that really made us concerned about signing an almost year lease. One being the front door to our building would not properly lock. The key fab was irrelevant, for months that wasn’t fixed. Anyone was able to walk into the building with or without a key. For a large span of time us + every tenant were receiving emails/ letters at our door that there is a noticeable smell of marijuana odor being complained about coming from the building. I don’t think that was something that was ever addressed because not long after, 8 months in with under two moths in our lease left, we were displaced due to what can only be assumed as negligence. I am so beyond disgusted with how management handled every situation brought to their attention. On top of promising security outside the building while none of the residents were able to access their own belongings, someone broke in and stole sentimental and valuable items from our unit as well as other units. There has been no follow up- we had to go to the police ourselves, we’re still waiting on insurance, we have been misplaced, mentally damaged. Management couldn’t care less, thank you to maintenance + Red Cross & Groton community. We’re so thankful we had resources that actually care.

The Ledges is not honest about their pricing. How do you mistakenly make your website reflect a townhome be $400 cheaper than what it ACTUALLY costs? The Ledges would not honor their mistake on their website reflecting the incorrect monthly base rent and instead lost a potential resident. Very shady practice that changes prices daily as well. Whenever I received an email to sign the lease “immediately” should’ve been the first red flag. Rushing and pressuring someone to sign a legal document is never ok.
I’m glad we are not renting from The Ledges.
After living here for nearly three years, I can confidently say the biggest problem with this complex is the management.
There have been repeated theft issues in the buildings, yet management refuses to install cameras and simply tells residents to "file a police report." My vehicle was hit on the property, and because there were no cameras, there was no way to identify who was responsible.
Rent increased by $100-$300 at renewals despite no meaningful improvements. Management also added new fees over time, including amenity charges and even passing the cost of complex-wide lock changes onto residents.
Communication was consistently poor. Documents had to be submitted multiple times, conversations were forgotten, and management frequently seemed disorganized. As a military member, I was repeatedly asked to provide the same LES and income verification because paperwork couldn't be tracked properly.
The final straw was being denied a one-day extension after our apartment was completely moved out because we couldn't complete our military command checkout on a Sunday. There was no flexibility despite the unit being empty and ready to turn over.
After moving out, management attempted to charge us for carpet replacement due to alleged "pet odor." When I requested proof, none was provided. After disputing the charge, our full security deposit was returned. That experience only reinforced my concerns about how quickly tenants can be charged without clear documentation or proof.
The only reason this review isn't 0 stars is because of the maintenance staff. They were always professional, responsive, and hardworking. They deserve recognition because they consistently did an excellent job.
Overall, this complex is overpriced, poorly managed, disorganized, and unwilling to address tenant concerns. The maintenance team deserves five stars, but management earns one.

I absolutely love living here. I have been here for almost a year, and we have never had any issues. Maintenance is always available if needed and the office is always a call away. The amenities that they have here are great and the maintenance team is always sanitizing the common areas and the gym too. They just put in a really cool gas grilling station and fire pit area, so my family and I are very excited to be able to utilize that as well. My favorite is the pool because its salt water. A bonus is the events that the leasing office throws through out the year. You honestly pay for what you get. It’s a great place to live.

Elephants live upstairs with a dog who has separation anxiety and barks incessantly. Complained to management who has done nothing about the problem.
Takes them 3 days to clear snow out of any parking lot. Water has a nasty taste, and causes gross brown gunk to build up on faucets. Can't get any cable/internet provider other than xfinity. Rent is ridiculous for what you get. There's a monthly trash fee, but you have to take your own trash to a separate building in the very front of the complex. There are natural gas leaks all the time, fire department is here at least 3 times per month. Maintenance insists that these gas "odors" in the hallways are normal and totally safe. Apartments don't come with ceiling lights in the bedrooms, and they wanted $50 per room to install them. Paint and trim are falling apart. Not a lot of storage for how big the apartment is. Parking is never enforced and lots are often full with non-residents. Gym has mostly broken equipment and limited free weights. Outdoor pool is closed most of the time. Fire alarm is located close enough to the stove to go off any time the stove is used.... to name a few complaints.....
