I highly recommend living here.
Upon moving in, the place was immaculate. The floors were scrubbed so clean I’d be comfortable eating on them, and all the paint seemed to be touched up to perfection.
As for apartment life, yes, there are noises from people around you. I lucked out with a top floor studio against the stair well, so I hear very minimal noise if any. The lady who moved in below me, however, has been complaining that she hears my foot steps and dining room chair. I think she’s a very light sleeper, but still worth noting. I have not heard anything from my next door neighbor, and having installed a few things in the wall I can tell you they are double thick. In other words, if you’re a light sleeper, get a top floor. That’s pretty standard for apartment living. Also, yes, there is a train track across the rear parking lot. Yes, it does go by about once a day/night and it oddly shakes the whole complex. It usually blows it’s horn too which is quite annoying but it hasn’t made much of a difference in my life despite other reviews.
Having a deck is amazing. Picking up packages is very streamlined here. And, although I haven’t used the workout room because of the virus, the meeting room, outdoor space, and common area are nice. The finishings are also high quality and holding up well so far.
Location is actually better than expected. This was the part I was most worried about living here. But, as it turns out, downtown Louisville and all the shops/restaurants are less than a five minute walk under the bridge behind the modern office building next door. There’s a coffee and bagel shop, pizza place, and dispensary basically in our front yard. That’s a major plus for me.
I have a dog, and there’s lots of parks by downtown Louisville as well as a pretty substantial city dog park just a few minute drive up the street. Most convenient for me, though, is actually the baseball field where I can let him off leash or in the neighboring field. Pets are definitely welcome. There are probably four or five just on my floor, and all the exits have dog bags to clean up after them.
All in all, I’m really enjoying it here.
