  Super sketchy. If you look on zillow some of the units are these gorgeous apartments. Then you go see it and it's just kinda sad. Good price for the area, but very misleading on quality. I had a great chat with the leasing agent however!

  I have lived here for a bit over 6 years. Rent is affordable as it is subsidized low income housing although when I first moved in rent did not cost more than 35% of my monthly wages. Now it has risen to about 54%. I did not have much choice as I had been previously homeless due to the 2008 recession. I only needed a one bedroom, but those are extremely difficult to have vacancies, so I ended up in a 2 bedroom. The housing itself is ok, built in the 1960s from what I've heard. Too drafty in the winter due to the setup of the ac/heating system in my living room. The only reason anyone would have roaches is due to lack of cleanliness. The main problem is some of the neighbors can be obnoxious and inconsiderate of other tenants, and management is slow to deal with problem tenants. Part in thanks to COVID as well. There have been (and still are) some very wild ones. But as I have been living in low income housing the majority of my life I know that certain unsavory situations do happen around here. The nice neighbors in the building are the ones you hope will stay. Obviously if I had more affordable options in nicer locations I'd take them, but for what it is worth you get a roof over your head, and if you're lucky you'll be surrounded by pleasant respectable and considerate neighbors you will have less problems. Sadly, the better a place gets the easier it is for gentrification to make things unaffordable again.
