  Sorrel, formerly known as motif, has many issues and there’s much better options of renting in Woodland Hills. Packages are missing constantly, the water pressure disappears multiple times a day, it’s VERY loud whether it’s children screaming, babies crying, music blasting, etc. The hallways have dog urine and feces all the time as well. The rent is also MUCH higher than you see. For instance you pay over a hundred dollars a month for a trash fee? And that’s just one of many fees that don’t make sense. The pools are dirty and FREEZING. And even on the hottest day in Woodland Hills it feels like you’re going into an ice bath not a cool pool. People also drive like maniacs in the garage it is very unsettling and dangerous. People leave their trash by the trash chute instead of throwing it down the chute, just to showcase the kind of people who rent here.

  My experience with the application process at Sorrel Apartments was extremely frustrating and unnecessarily complicated. From the beginning, I clearly explained that I have a new job offer and have not started the position yet, so I do not have pay stubs from that employer. Despite providing my job offer, I was still repeatedly asked for pay stubs. I was then asked to connect my bank account through their application portal, which I did. I even received confirmation from my bank that the connection was successful, but I was told by the leasing office that they were getting an error. I tried connecting it again, but they continued to say there was an issue on their end. After that, I was asked to add a guarantor. I did so and paid an additional $65 application fee. My friend/guarantor completed all the required steps and even connected her bank account to the rental application. However, Brendon informed us that they were still receiving an error. At that point, I felt that we had already done everything that was asked of us. I also provided three months of bank statements showing a good amount of savings as additional proof of financial capacity, but the process continued to be a hassle. Ultimately, I decided to cancel my application because of how frustrating and stressful the entire process had become. I understand that apartments need to verify income and financial qualifications, but when applicants have provided the requested documents, successfully completed the required steps, and even added a guarantor, there should be a reasonable alternative when the verification system itself is not working properly. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward application turned into a very disappointing experience.

  We’ve had such a great experience living here! The management recently organized a BBQ for the whole building, which was such a nice and thoughtful idea. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get together, enjoy some food, and meet our neighbors. We really appreciate the effort they put into creating a friendly community atmosphere!

  I had an amazing experience with the Brendan and Jay! They were so welcoming, patient, and helpful throughout the entire apartment-hunting process. They took the time to listen to what I was looking for, answer all my questions, and make me feel comfortable and supported without ever feeling rushed. I truly appreciated how caring and attentive they were. They made the process feel easy and stress-free.
