  Lived here for 5 years. They are now doing construction to “revamp” the place. Unfortunately, the things we, as tenants , actually care about is the washer and dryers that need to be replaced and stink. Or a replacement of Wall AC units so we don’t have the loudest AC units hurting our ears just to stay cool. Currently also dealing with an aggressive neighbor that knocks heavily on my door like they are breaking in and they are again almost helpful with the fact of “it’s hard to evict tenants” even if they are engaging in threatening and menacing behavior. I believe they are trying to make these upgrades to match the yearly rent raise. This place is cheaper and in a better neighborhood than most. But if you are looking to move it’s at least 6 months of them drilling in cement during work hours for the next 6-8 months.

  The maintenance staff at the building is great, but the management leaves a lot to be desired if you can get in touch with them. Also, they are currently undergoing a full renovation of the interior courtyard which tenants were given about 2 days notice of. One jackhammer demoing the all the cement on the grounds. If you are considering moving here, give it 6 months to a year.

  ★★☆☆☆ Riverside Villa Apartments (Jones & Jones) I’ve lived here over five years and the pattern is consistent: they raise rent 5% annually and long term tenants end up paying the same top of market price as new move ins getting more renovated units. The complex itself is maintained at a bare minimum, but rent is pushed as high as they can regardless of tenant history or loyalty. What made it worse was how the front office handled it. For over a year I kept getting indirect, runaround responses and was even pushed into writing emails trying to change my leasing terms, only to be told at the very end that the increase was “mandatory,” no lease terms were being offered (again), and there was nothing I could do. I’ve heard the all too similar frustrations from other long term tenants. Jones & Jones also doesn’t have the best reputation across the buildings they manage, and this experience shows why. Update in response to management’s reply: Management says they value long term residents and that rates reflect market conditions and community improvements. To clarify: After five years of consistent 5 percent annual increases, my unrenovated unit is priced at the same level as newly renovated units offered to new move ins. No alternative lease terms were presented despite nearly ten separate attempts to resolve this via phone and email. I was ultimately told the increase was mandatory and non negotiable. If long term residents are valued, there should be a meaningful distinction between renovated inventory and older units in both pricing and lease flexibility. This is about pricing parity and transparency, not about whether increases exist.
