  I visited the Toll Brothers 55+ community in Tracy to see whether it would be a good fit for retirement. My first impression was that the homes are attractively staged and have appealing interior finishes, but I felt the asking prices were far higher than what the construction quality justified. In my opinion, the homes looked well-presented but not exceptionally built for the premium price being asked. The lakeside homes are clearly the most desirable, but from what I learned, those lots are difficult to obtain and may not be available for quite some time. Much of the marketing emphasizes those views, yet many buyers may not realistically have access to them. I was also surprised by how many children I saw throughout what is advertised as a 55+ community. That made the atmosphere feel different from what I was expecting. I also noticed a number of porches with shoes and other personal items stored outside. I understand that different households have different customs, but I personally prefer a cleaner, more uniform streetscape. For me, that detracted from the upscale appearance the community is trying to project. The sales experience was equally disappointing. The sales representatives came across as poorly prepared and heavily scripted. Rather than demonstrating deep knowledge of the homes and answering questions naturally, the presentation felt rehearsed and impersonal. For homes at this price point, I expected a much more polished, knowledgeable, and customer-focused sales staff. Overall, I left feeling that the community did not offer the value, transparency, or retirement atmosphere I was looking for, especially considering the premium prices.

  I went with my dad to view the homes, I thought the experience would be lovely. Oh how wrong I was. The saleswoman at the front office, “Tonya” was her name (something like that) treated me and my dad awful. She almost denied our entry and gave us dirty looks as soon as we walked in. Made us feel uncomfortable and was racist. She looked very racist and was not kind at all. You should see who you hire when it comes to these kinds of jobs of wanting to sell homes. I will not be coming back. What a mean woman!
