  Tenant Review – Westlake Canyon Apartments Not recommended, especially for women. In my experience, once you move in and begin making complaints, management ignores your concerns. This is an 30+ older property, and I have experienced ongoing maintenance and pest issues, including failing pipes, mold concerns, ants, and mice. Dog pee on the side walk . There are also rat traps around the building. This week, I even found a scorpion in my sink. There is also a significant cigarette, cigar, and vaping problem. Walk around the back of the property around 7:00 p.m. and you can smell smoke throughout the area. Smoke and fumes have also entered my apartment through the vents and common areas. Now even my closets have developed a strange odor. My lease prohibits smoking and vaping in or around the apartment buildings. Other tenants have the same problem in their apartments.The apartments are overpriced for an older property with dated kitchens and bathrooms. The appliances are poor quality. I had three dishwashers in one month, and the latest one has a strange glue-like odor. The property also needs better landscaping and maintenance. The dog area is mostly dirt with no grass. For the money, I do not feel this apartment community is worth it. Before signing a lease, I recommend Googling newer apartment communities. There are newer options in the area, including new construction in Newbury Park and Moorpark. I strongly recommend walking around the entire property at different times of day before signing a lease.

  The leasing office is NEVER open during their business hours! Super unprofessional! I wasted my time and gas money trying to tour a vacant unit three times because the office leasing people are never there during their business hours.

  horrible management! They are constantly bettering the exterior of the development to bring in new tenants but once you are in they quickly forget about any needs you may have inside your unit.
