Lauren was absolutely amazing throughout our entire leasing process. When I had started to lose hope about being approved, she never gave up on us. She continued to help us every step of the way, stayed patient, and truly went above and beyond to make everything happen. She was incredibly caring, always took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly, which made the entire process so much less stressful. Her dedication, kindness, and professionalism really stood out and showed how much she genuinely cares about the residents at The Retreat. I can't thank Lauren enough for everything she did for us. Thank you for believing in us, for your patience, and for all of your hard work. We truly appreciate everything you did, and we're so excited to be part of the community.

I have been at the retreat for about 2 years now, when I first came in it was such a pleasure to work with Shelby and the other girl who no longer is here, but Nick has also been a great help in any situation needed. I love that maintenance is always on it when we place a work order, I'm honestly happy that they all resolve any issue quickly, and Greg is also great at all he does here as well. Thanks, guys.

Don’t move here. Don’t do it, don’t do it, pleeease, for the sake of your own sanity: don’t do it unless you absolutely need to. I lived here for three years. It’s the worst complex I’ve ever lived in (and I’ve lived in most of the apartment complexes in Santa Clarita). RENT/DEPOSIT: Rent was increased every year (around $300/month) without exception. About $600 of my $3000 deposit was returned (I have good credit; this was simply their standard deposit with two pet deposits). INFESTATIONS: There are rat, bee, and fly infestations. The bees typically build a nest near the staircases; management removes these once given notice. The building hallways are frequently filled with large flies. I suspect this is due to the trash shoot; be careful not to let the flies into your home! Management did nothing about this, but does replace the hallway air fresheners about once a week. It doesn’t hide the smell of the trash but rather mixes with it. Building one has had the rat problem for two years and management was unwilling to address the issue until the entire building threatened to hold payment on rent. All they did was install rat glue traps within each apartment, which reduced the problem but has not solve it, and meant I occasionally had a dead rat in my walls, stinking up the place during Summer. I guess that’s better than when the rats where alive and inside the apartment. The solution: moving out. MAINTENANCE: Maintenance otherwise was okay. I like the head maintenance man; he’s interesting and very kind. With the exception of rats, most repairs were quick, but typically something else had been damaged during the repairs: the walls were hit or personal items knocked down and destroyed. NOISE: You will hear every sound. The hallway doors closing, your neighbor watching a movie, the construction in the dirt lot nearby, and the train at 2AM and 5AM as well as all throughout the day. This is not a good location for working from home. This isn’t even a good location for getting a good night’s rest. THEFT: There’s occasional theft in the parking lot/structure. Our neighbor’s had their windows smashed a handful of times in my building; our motorcycle had an attempted but failed theft with severe damage. GOOD THINGS: The good thing about The Retreat is that they look moderately nice inside with only carpet in the bedroom. We had a 2B/2B and both bedrooms are Master’s. There’s also a small dog park, and the paseo is a short walk. All of which is amazing! But then again, it’s The Retreat. SUMMARY: Don’t move here.
