  Lived at the Rafferty for two years and although it was a decent experience, I am happy to be out. The apartments are nice and clean, but overall overpriced. A selling point is being in downtown Santa Ana, but downtown has like 4 good bars and the rest are Vaquero stores and clinics. The Rafferty also a pretty stingy luxury apartment. They threaten to charge you up to $500 (amenity fee) if you have more than 2 friends over (per lease holder). They threaten to charge you $50 if you leave trash in the trash room (even if the shoots are not working). Once you complete your first year there, they offer month-to-month BUT fail to mention that if you would like to renew month to month instead of 12-13 months, your rent would go up by like $500-$600 a month. Upon moving out, I detail cleaned the apartment (even wiped the baseboards) and we hired a professional dry wall guy to fix any holes we made when putting up our tv. It was two 30 year olds living there so we definitely didn’t break or stain anything, yet our deposit refund was $50. While they nickel and dime tenants, I’ve experienced an internet outage at these apartments lasting about 5-6 days, yet there was no refund on our mandatory monthly internet charge. In addition, if your apartment faces the pool, it’s usually loud w kids playing in the pool. If your apartment faces the street, it’s loud w cars, fireworks, etc. The maintenance guys were really nice though!

  Love the building, But there’s one thing that outweighs loving the building and that’s the fire alarm system that they have tested at least six times since I have lived here in less than a year, I have never in my many many years of living Experienced A building doing fire alarm testing more than once a year, this is extremely obnoxious and deeply impacts living here

  There are too many fire alarm tests in this apartment building; each one takes several hours. I’ve lived here for less than a year and have already experienced five or six fire alarms; if you work the night shift or are a light sleeper, definitely do not live here
