  Me and my partner moved from here because of a work relocation, I don’t really understand some of the super negative reviews. Our experience was overall good, there may be a bad and good side of the complex it seems. We lived closer to McLaughlin Ave. The gate does stop working sometimes, longest it was out was like 3 weeks. Also, sometimes it’s hard to get your packages or DoorDash delivered unless they follow behind cars with a key card because it ONLY opens with a keycard, there’s no code u can give them. security can be a little overbearing, but personally I’d rather have security than none at all. We saw security ask random/unidentified people or teens to leave the property multiple times, and we actually appreciated that. Security also drove through the parking lots all night, which made us feel better about our cars which were never broken into or anything. Parking in general was great, big spots, and we almost always had plenty of spaces for ourselves and guests. Guests can stay for 3 days, which is honestly pretty generous compared to a lot of apartments nowadays. We also never had a roach problem in our unit. We saw maybe two outdoor roaches during the entire year, but never German roaches or anything like that. We put down some repellent when we moved in and kept our place clean, and never had an issue. Obviously, neighboring units can make a difference, but also... it’s San Jose. It’s hot and roaches exist everywhere, even in luxury apartments lol. The pools could get dirty sometimes, but the one on our side was cleaned regularly. Management was also fine with us. We never felt like they were constantly bothering us and probably got around 3 random emails the entire year. I think they can be a little strict because of past tenant experiences, but if you’re respectful and straightforward with them, we found they treated us the same way. As for the negatives, the units get HOT. The bedroom, closet, and bathroom essentially form one long hallway, and the airflow into that area is very weak. The humidity was actually enough that my partner and I developed mold on some of our clothes in the closet. We were able to solve the problem by getting a dehumidifier, but it is definitely something I would keep in mind if you are considering a 1B/1BA. If you are considering a downstairs unit, be prepared to hear your upstairs neighbors. We got lucky and had respectful neighbors who would lower the noise volume if we asked, but you can definitely hear footsteps and loud voices. If your upstairs neighbors have children or are sleep late, good luck. Pulling out of the complex onto McLaughlin Avenue can be a nightmare, especially during busy times. Cars park along the fire lane every single day which extents until the very edges of the exit driveway, which makes it extremely difficult to see oncoming traffic when trying to turn left. There were multiple situations where I felt like I was nearly going to get into an accident because my view was blocked by big bulky parked trucks and stuff. There is also another apartment complex Nextdoor that can only be accessed from the opposite side of the road because of the center divider. As a result, cars frequently make U-turns directly in front of your exit. This can be extremely confusing because you may think someone is turning into the apartment complex and so you go and try to turn right when they are actually making a U-turn and you almost hit each other. I really think management should address the fire-lane parking, whether by consistently enforcing it or working with the city to ticket cars. It creates a genuine safety issue. There was occasional police activity, which I believe was largely related to the apartments across the street who also house people who drive by blasting music like super loud at night on Summerside dr. Overall, I would say this is a good option if you're looking for a reasonably affordable place in San Jose and your expectations are realistic. It's not a luxury apartment, and there are definitely things that could be improved it’s a 7/10.

  I couldn’t wait to move out of this apartment complex. In my experience, management treats residents like they’re beneath them instead of the people paying their rent. One staff member, Tearza, always gave me the nastiest looks whenever I’d see her around the property. It never felt welcoming. I also regularly saw her walking her dog without picking up after it, which was frustrating considering how strict management is with residents. The property manager, Diana, constantly sent emails about the pettiest things. It felt like there was always something new to complain about, and instead of making the community better, it just made living here stressful. The security guard was another issue. He would interrupt me in the middle of my workouts at the gym asking to see my membership card, even though he already knew I lived there. At times it felt more like harassment than security. They’re also extremely aggressive about towing vehicles. My grandmother’s car was towed from the parking space we paid for on Thanksgiving because the registration wasn’t in her name. That experience alone cost us time, money, and ruined the holiday. I also frequently noticed the security guard smoking cigarettes in the company security vehicle throughout the day, which didn’t leave a very professional impression. The maintenance staff didn’t inspire much confidence either. I repeatedly noticed maintenance employees appearing to smoke marijuana on the property while on the clock. Meanwhile, management seemed far more focused on policing residents over minor issues than addressing problems that actually affect quality of life. The biggest issue by far was the cockroach infestation. Our apartment was overrun with roaches. Management had the unit sprayed twice, but each time the roaches came back worse than before. At night, I avoided going into the kitchen because so many would come out. It was disgusting and made the apartment feel unsanitary. Finally, management treats the gym, pool, and parking lot like they’re guarding Fort Knox. Instead of making residents feel at home, it constantly feels like they’re looking for reasons to hassle people. Overall, this was one of the worst apartment experiences I’ve had. Residents deserve respect, clean living conditions, and management that focuses on solving real problems instead of creating new ones. I would not recommend living here.

  Es el peor conjunto de apartamentos donde he estado y no he completado ni un mes. La piscina está llena de heces de pato 🦆 no se puede usar , dicen que permiten mascotas y pagas depósito pero ni el balcón puedes usar para tus mascotas. Los apartamentos mantienen sucios por afuera que dan mal aspecto y la administración se molesta si pones algo en tu balcón privado que no es privado porque ellos no te lo dejan usar. Hay vendedores ambulantes por todo el conjunto y la manager no es nada amable debe tener muchos problemas en la vida para hacerle la vida imposible a los residentes del conjunto en su trabajo. Nunca comento nada pero así estaré de aburrida y cansada que no quiero que otras personas pasen por lo mismo. NO CAIGAN !

  Read this, especially true for Indians and people of color! I have been in the Bay for 5-6 years and am pretty easy going! I have worked here for 8 years in FAANG and am very impartial and forgiving before spewing my opinions online. This has to by far the worst experience you will ever have in an apartment. 1. The pool has mostly been dirty with ducks swimming in it (making it very icky for a human to swim) -- most residents know this. 2. A very non friendly management, mostly retaliatory, especially towards Indians. 3. Generally racist undertones from the security guard and the head management lady Diana. 4. They knock your door without intimation for repairs, and then send repair notices later (cannot provide proof as it's impossible to record a knock which already happened) 5. You are not allowed to keep anything in the patio. You cannot keep rugs in the patio -- where on earth are such rules? -- got a notice for this 6. They start cleaning your glass pane on the roof for second floor apartments without telling you, and they can see everything in your living room. Yes, this is almost a lawsuit in the making, but as you know, as an immigrant I don't have the time, energy and strength to file for one! 7. They charged me 300 dollars for painting the apartment before I left even though I stayed for 3 months. I kept the apartment beautifully and there was absolutely no reason for it to be repainted. I have attached proof of my duration of stay and receipt! Be careful!
