We recently had a change of property management companies and now work with Sares-Regis. For our prior property management company, we got the distinct sense the staff wanted to do as little as possible to get by; they didn't even consistently answer the office phone.
In contrast, the Sares-Regis staff are a breath of fresh air! They are universally friendly and responsive, and they seem genuinely dedicated to their work. I not infrequently see them stay late to finish something or get email responses from them on weeknights/weekends, for example. I pass by the office 2-3x/day, and they're actually working and getting things done (!). They're also proactive and thoughtful; as a small example, they set up a dog treat jar for the many of us who have dogs.
A couple of folks I really want to call out and thank:
1. Alex, the property manager, is perpetually friendly, helpful, accessible, competent, and hard-working. He's super prompt when we reach out, even outside of working hours, and he's taken the time to get to know us by name. I can tell he genuinely cares about his job and our community! That is a rare combination I've never seen in any of SF property managers I've worked with before, and I think he sets an exceptional example and a positive tone at the top for the rest of his team.
2. Daniel is my maintenance guy extraordinaire! He is respectful (e.g., shows up when he says he will, consistently wears shoe covers), thorough, clearly skilled at his craft, and also generous with his expertise. I like to understand what's happening, why it's happening, and especially how to fix things--so that I can fix things myself if I don't need to escalate to maintenance. Daniel takes the time to explain how things work and give me tips in those rare instances where I can try to fix something myself.
Every other maintenance guy I've worked with has given the impression that just want to get out of there fast, even if they haven't actually fixed the root issue (such that I have to aqsk them to come back later--which never made sense to me since that was just more work for them). However, Daniel is conscientious and thorough. Rather than assume, he actually listens to me when I describe the issues that are happening and responds with what he thinks, taking the time to answer my questions. For example, we're working through a particularly gnarly smoke detector issue right now, and even though we're not sure which smoke detector is the problem, he's been working on both just to be safe. I'm hopeful we can figure it out soon, but in the meantime, I really appreciate him too!
