I had a sink problem where I let potato peel go down the drain and thankfully Adelfo Zarate Cruz - the maintenance supervisor came quick and fixed the issue for me and saved me a bunch of money. I appreciate the staff here for being prompt and effective.

I lived at the Artisan (formerly Broadstone Makers Quarter) for 3.5 years and I cannot say enough great things about the community. Let’s start with the location. It is located in East Village and EV has always been given a bad rep. But this location is honestly not too shabby. In fact, it’s conveniently located to all the freeways, and a block away from the police station and next to city college. This area tends to be a lot nicer than most of downtown and there’s a free (but very limited) parking located behind the building. The building itself has that really unique look in the best way. And it only gets better on the inside. The leasing area is located right on the corner of 16 and Broadway and inside has this industrial/modern look. Down the hall is a futuristic design that leads you into the mail room disguised as an old bank vault. Great thing about the mail room is a locker system where your Amazon packages get delivered to. They got a bike vestibule and two levels of secured, gate parking. On the mezzanine level is a music studio… yes, you heard that right, a music studio. Equipped with a full drum set, guitar and half stack , bass and amp, electric piano, turntable and mics. All great name brand instruments too. Next, you get to the second floor where that WOW factor really hits you. There’s a gym equipped with a few treadmills, elliptical machines, freeweights and a smith machine, some cable machines and jungle gym looking thing. And a yoga studio. Right next door is the clubhouse/maker space and office. The Artisan team does a great job at hosting many communal events where you get to meet and mingle with your neighbors. And just outside the clubhouse you get the pool area. This is what really sold me. It is truly an oasis there. On top of the clubhouse is the open air common space which was my favorite place to be. Not only do they have a grill out there but also a pizza oven and hibachi grill. I’m gonna miss these so much. Now, during my time here I lived in a studio, which faced a different courtyard. I loved that studio because it was usually quiet. The space was more than enough with a really awesome layout. My second unit was a one bedroom with a den tucked away in the corner, facing the Pool area. I lived at this unit for two years and absolutely loved it. The view was incredible and the unit was quite large with a unique layout. But after being in the Artisan for 3.5 years we wanted to try something different outside of downtown. I do also want to leave a review for the Artisan team. Marissa, Christian and Marcela have been so awesome and we can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve helped us with. I also want to give a shoutout to the Maintenance team, Adelfo and Manny. I rarely needed maintenance done but I always wanted to put in an order because these two guys are just awesome! Great guys and incredibly helpful! Last but not least, the cleaning crew. They don’t get enough credit but they do an amazing job keeping the community clean. It’s not the easiest when there are some neighbors that are inconsiderate along with some unwanted guests on the premises but the cleaning crew are sweethearts and continue to keep this place shining. I truly loved living here and I really hope this review gives future tenants the extra nudge to live at the Artisan.
