I lived in this place for more than a year, I do not recommend it, they won't return your deposit back even if you leave your apartment impeccable clean, they inspection the apartment with nonsense of negative comments they will make up things to just grab your money from your deposit. They supposed to return a pathetic less than 30 dlls left from the deposit , and not even that they had the cordiality to send me yet after 5 months. They higher the rent 2 times in less than 4 months and before that happened two months before almost everyone of my neighbors move out for that same reason, I do not blame them as it is a normal reaction any human being would have. Also the management service is terrible at handling situations they just don't care to resolve your business. Also they will charge you extra cost other than your rent even when you say beforehand and I mean before signing the contract that you don't want or need the private locker" luxer" or valet trash . well... even when I clearly said I don't want those services...guess what? on my first rent bill there it was...those extra fees for something I told them I wont needed.... basically they don't resolve anything and I ended up paying for those services I didn't use for the whole year... Basically, when they post that the rent is $2,345 for one bedroom apt .. well that means that you will have to sum up to the rent : the valet trash fee , the luxer locker fee , your parking car fee and the super old and used garage opener fee,...that will stopped working and they will not pay for the repair, but they will tell you: .."if you what to be fix it you have to pay for the repair for a little more than 200 dlls!!! yes!!! its on you!! . That's what the management people told me when my garage opener was only two weeks whit me since I received it... This apartment complex company is pathetic it's on them to fix their property that is the reason we tenants pay rent for the complex services, like what in the world???,.. Oh and there is more....as I mentioned the rent started at $ 2345 plus extra charges and ended up at $ 2675 in less than a year.... that's when I moved out like everybody else did...of course you will ended up feeling pressure to leave when they ended up incrementing the rent ...of course you will go to the across the street apt complex where the rent is cheaper than your apartment rent that by the way has the same apartment ft/sq space. Oh! and did a mentioned that after moving out they posted our apartment not at $2675 but at $2320 like ???? and after speaking to them about negotiating the rent from $2675 to $2500 they still said no to us... ( by the way we always paid on time and conserved a very clean apartment )So we had no choice then to go.... same story I see happening over and over to tentants that comes and go at this lovely La Jolla Blue apt complex... RENTS will go Up while you rent there and after a year tenants will have to move out because they will be in the same situation as all of us who rented there in the past , and with this difficult economy , good luck if you thinking of renting there. The pathetic La Jolla blue apartments smells like scammers to me.

I do not like to leave negative reviews but I’ve had a really frustrating experience with this property management company and feel it’s important to share for anyone considering living here. First, there are hidden fees that are not clearly communicated upfront. The “valet trash” service is advertised as a free amenity, but it’s actually a mandatory $50/month charge bundled into additional utilities. Even if you don’t use the service, you still have to pay for it with no option to opt out. That lack of transparency feels misleading. The management team is extremely disorganized and slow to respond. It often feels like no one is aligned internally — you’ll get different answers from different people, and there’s very little follow-through. Getting anything addressed requires constant follow-up and honestly feels like you have to fight just to have basic issues acknowledged. There are also ongoing plumbing issues that don’t seem to get properly resolved, which adds to the frustration. On top of that, the lease application process is incredibly slow and inefficient. They really need a better system in place to handle applications in a timely and organized way. Another downside is that you’re required to pay for a package locker system just to receive deliveries, which feels like another unnecessary added cost. To make matters worse, my car was hit while parked in the complex and the person responsible didn’t leave a note. When I went to the management office to ask about possible security footage, they told me they didn’t have any and essentially said there was nothing they could do. They were not helpful in any capacity, which was incredibly disappointing given this happened on their property. I will say Melissa and another team member (whose name I can’t recall) really try to do their best and I appreciate their effort. Overall, between the hidden fees, poor communication, lack of organization, lack of accountability, and unresolved maintenance issues, this has not been a positive experience. I would strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions and read the fine print before signing a lease here.

⭐☆☆☆☆ I would not recommend renting from La Jolla Blue. It has now been over four weeks since I moved out and returned my keys, and I still have not received my security deposit refund. California law requires landlords to return deposits within 21 days, and that deadline has long since passed. Communication has been poor, and I’ve had to repeatedly follow up just to get basic information. At this point, I’m being forced to consider legal action just to recover my money that should have been returned weeks ago. If you’re considering renting here, I would strongly think twice—especially if you care about getting your deposit back in a timely and professional manner.

I’m a new resident who moved in less than a month ago and recently had a very frustrating experience that I feel others should be aware of. I pay an additional $50/month for unassigned parking, so before using the garage, I specifically asked the leasing office for guidance. I was told by leasing agent Justin that I could park anywhere in the garages, as long as the space did not have a number. Based on that instruction, my mother parked in a space labeled “Reserved” that did not have a number. For comparison, my assigned space clearly says “Reserved 113,” and many other spots are labeled similarly, with some including numbers and others simply marked “Reserved.” The space we used only said “Reserved” with no number, which made it unclear that it was restricted based on the instructions I was given. The vehicle was towed, and I have now incurred nearly $800 in towing and storage fees. As a new resident paying for parking access, I relied on the information provided by staff. I was not shown where unassigned parking is located at the time I asked, and the distinction between numbered and non-numbered “Reserved” spaces was not explained. I was also told I could use multiple garages, with no clear direction on where unassigned parking is actually permitted. After the tow occurred and I returned to the office, I was then shown in person where unassigned parking is located. Unfortunately, this clarification came after the situation had already resulted in significant financial loss. This situation feels completely avoidable with clear communication and proper guidance, especially for new tenants who are paying for parking but are unfamiliar with the complex layout. please check reviews on yelp as well they are all accurate.
