  Love my apartment, love the staff, love the location! My move was such a great experience. I looked at every new building in North Park, Bankers Hill and Hillcrest and I’m so glad I chose Evoc!

  I’ve stayed in many places over the years, and EVOC has genuinely been one of the most memorable. For context, I’m a Roman Catholic and have been a registered Republican since 2016. EVOC is located in the heart of Hillcrest, one of San Diego’s most well-known LGBTQ+ communities. I mention that because I believe it’s important to acknowledge when people choose kindness over assumptions. From the day I moved in, I was treated with nothing but respect, warmth, genuine hospitality, and authentic kindness. Everyone made me feel welcome without judgment, and that speaks volumes about the community they’ve created. I especially want to recognize Izanna. She consistently went far beyond what anyone would expect from a property manager. She didn’t simply answer questions or process paperwork. She took the time to explain everything clearly, checked in when needed, and showed sincere care for the residents. You can tell she doesn’t see this as “just a job.” She truly cares about people, and that kind of leadership creates an environment where residents feel valued. She is an incredible asset to EVOC. I truly wish I could have stayed longer and participated in more of the community events. Hopefully I’m still invited someday, even if I’m no longer a resident. 😊 Unfortunately, life had other plans. Over the past six months I’ve faced significant health challenges that ultimately led to cardiothoracic surgery. I had to relocate back to North County to be closer to my medical team during recovery. Leaving wasn’t because of EVOC. If anything, it made leaving much harder. This experience reminded me that compassion doesn’t belong to one political party, religion, or identity. Whether someone is conservative, liberal, LGBTQ+, religious, or none of the above, we’re all human beings first. The world becomes a better place when we choose to care for one another a little more than we’re required to. The property itself is outstanding. My one-bedroom apartment exceeded every expectation. The finishes are modern, the design feels upscale, and it honestly rivals many luxury apartments I’ve toured. When I showed photos of my apartment to friends in medicine, the military, and other professions, they were genuinely impressed. Being only about a 10-minute walk from Balboa Park is another huge advantage, and I can easily see this becoming one of the best places to live for healthcare professionals, especially those beginning their careers at UC San Diego Health or nearby medical centers. If you work nearby, an e-bike is honestly one of the best ways to get around. One practical note: if you own a luxury vehicle, I’d strongly recommend renting a unit with secured parking. Like many busy urban neighborhoods, street parking comes with the usual risks. It’s not unique to EVOC, just something worth considering before you move in. The only real downside during my stay was the ongoing construction around the property. It could occasionally be inconvenient, but it’s clearly temporary. Once the promenade and surrounding improvements are complete, I believe this will become one of the premier residential communities in Hillcrest. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to add an on-site gym. That would make an already exceptional property even better. Thank you to everyone at EVOC, and especially to Izanna, for making one of the most difficult seasons of my life a little brighter. During a time filled with hospital visits, surgeries, and recovery, I found not only a beautiful place to live, but a community that reminded me kindness still exists. No matter our backgrounds, beliefs, politics, or identities, I hope we continue choosing understanding over assumptions and compassion over division.   Been living here for 6 months now and I have to say, it’s been great. Besides the construction going on out front I’ve enjoyed my time at Evoc so far. Any maintenance request are dealt with in a very expeditious manner. The staff are very responsive to questions and I like how they do monthly events for the tenants. I’m glad I was able to get a unit here when I was looking for a place here in San Diego. Definitely recommend this apartment building!

  Horrible neighbors that destroyed property and did nothing when approached to find a workable solution. The weasel that owns the general construction company is just that, actually that is insulting to weasels. The guy lied and tried to convince us to having someone’s kid repair the paint on our car that they damaged. And so much for noise ordinances
