Extremely disappointing experience with PulteGroup.
Within the first month of moving into our newly constructed home, we began discovering serious construction defects. A toilet was improperly installed, requiring contractors to cut through our kitchen to access plumbing. The repair work was poorly finished, leaving visible patchwork and mismatched paint that permanently affected the appearance of our home.
We later discovered framing issues while installing a door — there were no proper studs in place to secure it. Walls are uneven and not properly leveled, making basic installations difficult and raising concerns about overall build quality.
Most recently, we encountered improperly installed dryer ductwork within just seven months of occupancy. The venting setup restricts airflow and has already caused cleaning and efficiency issues. In a new home, this should not be happening. Improper duct installation can also raise safety and fire risk concerns.
The most frustrating issue is the unresolved solar system. The home was sold with solar, yet it remains non-operational. As a result, we are paying electricity bills exceeding $600 per month — costs we would not be incurring if the system had been properly delivered and activated.
Repeated attempts to obtain a meaningful resolution have resulted primarily in acknowledgments without corrective action. For a builder charging premium prices, the workmanship and post-sale accountability have been unacceptable.
Buyers should thoroughly inspect everything and be prepared for significant follow-up.
Think TEN times before you sign the contract.
