A quiet landmarked building with a glorious quiet courtyard complete with fountain, and exquisitely appointed rooms and suites, with kitchens that are perfectly stocked. The best place for someone away from home to work on a movie or TV project, it offers peace and quiet, but also, a truly lovely, caring staff led by Luke and Victoria, who are attentive and generous. I consider Villa Carlotta my home when in Los Angeles, and it changed my life. None of the chaos of Chateau Marmont, but more personality. A stretch of Franklin Avenue offers a book store, a magazine stand, a number of good restaurants, and around the corner is the Oaks Gourmet Market, with great pizzas and sandwiches which they happily deliver to V.C. The residents are uniformly appreciative of the place and care for it, and one another. It is low key and elegant, unpretentious and a refuge.
