The community is clean, quiet and well Maintained and the management team has always been professional and responsive whenever I’ve needed assistance. The maintenance team is outstanding especially Alberto. They respond quickly to requests, communicate clearly, and always complete repairs professionally and efficiently. Every issue I’ve reported has been handled with care, and they make sure everything is working properly before leaving. I highly recommend this apartment community especially because of the excellent maintenance service.

This place is amazing. We love our apartment, the amenities, your own washer and dryer, central AC and Heat, ceiling fans and lighting in every room with remotes to control the lights and air, LED lights everywhere, you don't need to install or bring any extra lamps, we have a 3-bedroom, and each bedroom is a great size, the master is even bigger with a walk-in closet. There are 3 storage places, 4 if you count the laundry room, one huge pantry, and one closet between the 2 kids' bedrooms, and one big closet with shelves at the entire seriously they are huge, Huge pools and spas, the Gym is huge, it offers workout equipment for your regular person to your gym fanatic, and offers so much more. Overall, people appear to be either friendly or mind their own business. This is a smoke-free community, and so far so good, people respect the policy in place. We live on the ground floor, and either the flooring and walls are great between apartments, or my neighbors are extra quiet; either way, I am yet to hear them walking or movie g furniture on the apartment directly above us or beside us, I don't hear anyone's music, TV, or can't hear people through the walls, overall, as privacy and noise tampering, they are unmatched in my opinion.
Angie F. Works in the front office with Carolina H. Both of them are so warm and welcoming, always helping someone, and they are the subject-matter experts on anything. Sarahy is nice and very helpful too. Lupita, their on-site manager, is very kind and extremely professional. They care, and it is something I noticed since before even moving in, just from contacting them and talking to them over the phone, they answered all the questions and provided very knowledgeable, helpful information. When I moved in, I did need help with something small, maintenance. They were very fast to help Alberto from maintainance he is one person who cares so much about people living there, first met him by flagging him went out of his way to help me out really quick with finding my coaxial in my apartment, he was attentive and made sure everything was ok, he even replaced my washer for a new one since the one that was there had a small issue. Alberto is definitely a leader and a problem solver; individuals like him are what make tenants feel valued and cared for.
This community is in the heart of Rancho Del Rey, you have schools nearby, literally within walking distance from K-12, and even South Western College is there, so many shopping centers just a block away, a YMCA by the complex, and a Fire Department nearby too.
You know that it is safe when you see people walking around, kids laughing, and having fun. No crazy loud music, people aren't screaming or using inappropriate language. People walk their pets on a leash. We are blessed to be part of this community. It is not a gated community, yet it surpasses that level of safety and security, in my opinion, and I am a retired Military Police and Antiterrorism Officer. This place is an excellent community for raising children, keeping pets, or enjoying the scenery. It is a short drive anywhere, even downtown San Diego to catch a Padres Game or go to Coronado to the beach.
I see third-party maintenance people at the community, too, like landscaping or other services. They are considerate and avoid starting too early or going too late so as not to disturb people. Overall, this community is very conscious and cares about its tenants. They do everything they can to ensure we, the tenants, are taken care of and given the best possible living experience.
Living at Toscana feels like a private resort for my needs. The layout of the apartment makes it spacious with lots of closet and pantry space. The patio is a nice size for entertaining small groups. The pools and landscaping are well maintained, and there’s even a small fitness center on site. What really drew me in was the staff. I felt like I found community when I met them. My first contact was Carolina and she was so warm, friendly and knowledgeable. Shout outs to Angie, Sarahy and Lupita in the leasing office too! I stop by often just to say hi.
Anytime I need a light bulb changed, a filter replaced, or any home improvements, Chuey is quick to respond. Alberto, Raul and Chuey are friendly and hardworking as I see them often in their golf carts heading to another task to complete.
I honestly don’t even know where to start.
When we first moved in, we immediately started having issues with pantry moths and roaches. The infestation was so bad that bugs were somehow making their way into sealed boxes of food in our pantry. There were webs everywhere, and we had to completely clean out and reorganize our pantry multiple times. It was disgusting.
We repeatedly contacted maintenance. The apartment only offers pest control on certain days, which meant we had to rearrange our schedules and leave the apartment for several hours because we have a cat. Some of us had to take time off work just to accommodate these treatments. Even after multiple visits, the problem was never resolved.
Eventually, we had to hire Orkin ourselves because management’s efforts were not working. Orkin came out multiple times and informed us that the roach problem appeared to be coming from the building itself, not just our individual unit. After several treatments and hundreds of dollars out of our own pockets, the issue was finally resolved. We should not have had to spend our own money to fix a building-wide pest problem.
Unfortunately, that was only the beginning.
Starting in 2024, we began experiencing ongoing issues with our upstairs neighbors. The noise has been relentless: stomping, running, banging, and activity late into the night and early in the morning. At times, the entire apartment would shake. We have even had plants fall over due to the vibration and constant impact from above.
We submitted countless complaints and emails to management. Nothing changed.
When we attempted to signal to the neighbors that the noise was excessive, they would respond by banging back even harder. Management advised us to call the police when disturbances occurred, so we did. Still, nothing improved.
Eventually, my roommate politely approached the neighbor to explain the impact the noise was having on us. Instead of having a civil conversation, the neighbor became hostile, started cursing at her, and dismissed the concerns entirely.
To make matters worse, management told us months ago that they were supposedly in the process of evicting these tenants. Months later, they are still here and the situation remains unchanged.
To this day, this neighbor frequently stares at us, laughs, curses, and behaves aggressively whenever we cross paths. We have also heard frequent yelling and fighting coming from the unit. We genuinely do not feel comfortable around them.
The safety concerns do not stop there.
We have witnessed numerous police responses at this property, including multiple occasions where large numbers of police vehicles arrived at once and individuals were placed in handcuffs. The unit across from us has constant traffic from random people coming and going at all hours. Some appear homeless, while others seem completely unrelated to the property. At one point, we even spoke with what appeared to be law enforcement personnel who were looking for someone in the building and advised residents to be aware of that individual.
As residents, we have never felt truly safe here.
The most frustrating part of all of this is management’s complete lack of action. We documented issues, submitted complaints, sent emails, made phone calls, and followed every process they asked us to follow. Nothing was ever meaningfully addressed.
There were periods where I was so sleep deprived from the constant noise that I would leave my own apartment and stay with friends just to get a full night’s sleep. I was on the verge of tears more times than I can count.
If you’re considering renting here, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Our experience has been defined by pest infestations, ongoing noise disturbances, safety concerns, and a management team that consistently failed to address serious resident complaints.
Save yourself the stress and find a property that actually cares about its residents.
Most of the property is filthy dirty in the common areas, I had them clean my building, but it gets dirty very often and it’s not cleaned. We have to complain about it 1 million times before it gets done. We pay a lot of money to live there and it’s filthy. Don’t move here. This place has no parking it’s always a wait for a space to become available after 6pm. All stairs in each apartment building is dirty always never cleaned, trash in hallways always flying around. I hope the investors created a plan to have all buildings cleaned once a month. But I don’t think they care. Move here but don’t complain later about the dirty stairs and hallways.
