I have been here nearly 2 years now. I liked it more initially for certain reasons, and I like it more now for others. I pay a highly competitive rate for my 2bd/2ba, while also being in one of the exclusive units with a pool facing balcony. My first year, it was very peaceful, as there weren't really any family's with small children. The pool was always busy, but respectably peaceful volume wise. I do not see as many people coming to the pools now, or I see people leave, because there often is a family or two with excited and boisterous children. They have every right to do so, but the once serene daily balcony relaxation ritual has been corrupted. My bluetooth speaker can't cut through, fewer cute girls sunbathing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But that's more of a personal experience and preference, not a reflection of Ascent apartments or their non-discriminatory leasing office. Furthermore, about once every other week, there's a party at the pool/hot tub with 4-8 people, after 10 pm. Sometimes until 2. I'm a night owl, so I literally don't lose sleep over it, however, the only attempt by management to rectify, is to send a general email blast. I, mean, what else are they gonna do? Hire a security team for 250k a year? It's one of those things that isn't really managements fault, but I imagine its aggravating for the early birds near the pool. Grounds wise, its generally clean, however there is some disrepair visible on the exteriors of buildings. Some people don't pick up after their dogs. I often smell both cigarettes and weed walking to my stairwell. Parking is abysmal. I wish I could refute that, but it's so bad people are literally parking a blocks down at the Lifetime fitness on weekends. There are more than a few units that very clearly have 6-8 people living in. I Imagine they have cars. But I know for sure they have a TV, and like Soccer, because I can hear them cheering at 3 am through my walls. Also I can hear the people above me.....Well lets just say I can hear them. To the point where I'm convinced they're getting paid, because the frequency is unnatural. But I digress. Petty gripe, but valid gripe- Landscaping comes at 6:30 am every Tuesday, and they will hold those 2 stroke leaf blower throttles wide open for 2 hours straight. That messes with my night owl....ness. I have interacted with management a few times regarding various things since their takeover in February, and honestly all of my experiences have been positive. I might add, that every time I was interacting with them, it was because I had an issue of some sort. Then I realized, EVERYBODY only talks to them when they have an issue of some sort. They were courteous and empathetic to my situations, even with the pile of BS complaints they get day in and out, and lease applications from freshly paroled 480 credit scores. I've seen the reviews of how 'horrible" the management office is, and all I can say is... Give them a break. You probably caught them on a bad day. You have them too. Afford the compassion to others that you would want for yourself. At the end of the day, they do customer service, and they do it at the customers home. YOU do that. Do it. Try it. You will not. Because you cannot. Be kind. The maintenance team now is amazing. Before, maintenance requests would take 3-5 days, and now they're on it within 24 hours, even same day in one (non-emergency) instance. They're always friendly, and respectful of my space. Overall, a majority of the issues Ascent has, are the same issue every "affordable" apartment complex has. I feel safe here, everybody generally keeps to themselves. My Amazon packages have sat on my doorstep for 4 days straight with no issue. I plan on staying until extenuating circumstances change that. I feel I'm getting a great value and I'm always happy to come home.

Not having a parking spot to use at night sometimes and the pet relief area (called a "dog park" for some reason) drop 3 stars. Price added a star. I put in my first maintenance request since I've been here, and they showed up within 24 hours and fixed something immediately. That added another star. The cold pool and hot hot tub add another star. Not a lot of space, but love my apt here.

No where to park and the office staff is mean as hell. They also overcharge ridiculously if you signed your lease before the new company took over

I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience here has been very disappointing. First, as many other reviews already mentioned, parking is a disaster. Carports cost around $30/month and garages are $50/month, but the bigger issue is the waiting list. We’ve already been waiting several months till now. Second, there is a serious ant problem. Ants are everywhere — on the couch, floor, table, and in the kitchen. The pest control and wall sealing are clearly inadequate. Sometimes a large number of ants suddenly appear overnight, and you can literally see them coming in and out through gaps in the walls. Third, since the new Greystar management took over, the service has become extremely unprofessional. The staff are often indifferent and not helpful, and emails are rarely answered. We asked multiple times about parking availability. At first, Michall kept saying there were no carports available. After several visits, another staff member told us some would be available in May. When we checked again in May, they suddenly said maybe June instead. Communication has been inconsistent and frustrating. Overall, the living experience has gone downhill significantly.

We came to look at a few 2b2b units and Michelle was our helper. She was wonderful, super sweet, very helpful to answer all of our questions! She gave us information on promotions, price breakdowns and made sure we had everything ready before applying. She was very helpful and I couldn’t have asked for a better helper. Amazing layout too, definitely get your moneys worth. If you see a layout you don’t like, she’s very helpful in giving you other tours and options. Highly recommend checking Ascent out! Will give an update upon move-in…
