My husband and I have been living here for a year now, and everything had been great until it was time to renew our lease. First of all, they never informed us that our rent was going to increase. We only found out because my husband noticed it while reading the renewal contract before signing. They never mentioned possible rent increases when we first signed the lease or even when renewal time came around, so just be aware of that. Also, a few weeks ago I was expecting a very important delivery — my car title. According to my USPS account, it had been delivered, but I never received it. I assumed it may have been placed in the wrong mailbox, so I asked the leasing office if they could please send an email to residents or check with the mail carrier. They told me they would ask the manager, speak with the mail lady, and have the mailboxes checked. Well, they never actually did anything to help. A few days later, another resident knocked on my door and said she had just checked her mailbox and found my car title in it. That means the leasing office never followed through with what they said they were going to do. If it had been just a regular package, I wouldn’t have cared as much and would’ve simply reordered it. But this was an important legal document proving ownership of my car, so the situation was extremely stressful and disappointing.

They are too expensive to be a landfill. I was very shocked to see the long wear and tear the painting coming off. Trash everywhere. Spider webs everywhere. The parking lot full of pot holes.

Do not live here if you care about your mental and physical health and well being (especially if you are a woman). AND GET IT MOLD TESTED. I will be listing several reasons this is the worst place I have ever leased because of so many issues my husband and I encountered. If we had maintanence issues that were addressed properly I would be leaving a much higher review because overall the complex is a nicer environment to live in, however our maintenance emergencies were met with negligence. 1. upon move in, the apartment was not professionally cleaned. there was dust everywhere. but what was insane was finding a half eaten pop tart underneath the refrigerator (we never eat those). 2. Uninhabitable conditions regarding hot temperatures. In the summer, our AC unit stopped working on multiple occasions often reaching 80+ degrees indoors which is lawfully considered uninhabitable. The only thing that maintenance did was fill it with Freon which would only help for 4-7 days, because there was an obvious leak. Instead of inspecting why this did not work, they continued refilling with freon 7 times. Every time we called telling them the temp inside was 77-80 it took them hours to the next day to show up and they did nothing more than add freon. After probably the 8th call, they finally found the leak and replaced the entire unit. Didn’t have problems after that by this had lasted 6+ months before anything was done to fix the actual problem. 3. There was no professional communication with maintenance. they never gave us a time to expect them to be in our home to secure pets and be decent. They often allowed themselves into my home when I was alone and in bed. Once, I woke up to them working outside of my bedroom and was scared. They made no apology. Once they sent a roofing company over to inspect a leak going on with another a Once they sent a roofing company over to inspect a leak going on with another apartment and wanted to come in to check for leaks in our walls. I was in bed and heard a knock, got up in my bra and shorts to check who was at the door. within 10 seconds of knocking, our maintenance men started using their key to unlock my door without attempting to knock and wait again. I had to shout “one minute” so i could go to put on appropriate clothing. I felt unsafe in that apartment when my husband was at work because i knew they could let themselves in at any time. There were also two occasions where maintenance men were doing something outside of our windows, once at night and once when i was alone during the day, and they did not inform us that they would be around our apartment so that was startling. 5. ZERO communication- our water to the entire building was shut off without warning for a test, i only found out when i called about it. zero heads up. Additionally they did a fire alarm test without letting anyone know. So i thought it could be an emergency and had to evacuate, but no, they just didn’t care to let us know they would be setting off the loud alarms. We did get a notice by paper on our door of a scheduled fire inspection, yeah that never happened and i know because i was home all day and cleaned so they couldn’t flag clutter as a fire hazard. This complex could be good if maintenance did their jobs and the leasing office actually communicated with us, also if they tried to fix emergent issues. I just hope someone living here will report the uninhabitable conditions to the Montgomery Code Enforcement Office.

I’ve had a great experience living at Sturbridge Commons Apartments. The community is clean, quiet, and well-maintained, and the grounds always look nice. The amenities are a huge plus — the pools, fitness center, and outdoor spaces really make it feel like a comfortable place to come home to. The staff has been friendly and helpful whenever I’ve needed assistance, and maintenance requests have been handled professionally. I also appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the overall sense of safety in the community. The location is convenient and close to shopping, dining, and major roads, which makes getting around Montgomery easy. Overall, Sturbridge Commons offers good value, great amenities, and a pleasant living environment. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice apartment community in the area.

I am a tenant here and experienced a complete failure to provide essential heat during the winter last night. My central heating system broke, and maintenance provided space heaters that tripped the breaker multiple times and cannot run safely. I was even advised to plug heaters into a surge protector, which is a serious fire hazard. When I raised these concerns with the property manager, she was dismissive, condescending, and refused to provide a safe solution or alternative accommodations. She even stated that tenant laws were “not her concern,” which is unacceptable. Management has since reached out and indicated that my heat should now be functioning, but that does not undo how I was treated, and I was not given an apology. I do not recommend living here. Management fails to respond appropriately to essential maintenance issues and treats tenants dismissively. I am just trying to live in my home with livable conditions, and it would have been nice to receive the basic level of customer service that other reviews suggest. I also want to note an additional concern about professionalism and transparency. After this incident, I became aware that staff were telling others that I had “come in and gone off,” which is not an accurate representation of what occurred. I raised safety concerns about heat and electrical issues in a calm and direct manner when I was asked to come in because the property manager was on a call and no longer responding to my emails. It is troubling to learn that a tenant advocating for safe living conditions would be mischaracterized internally. In addition, I noticed several new positive reviews posted immediately after this situation. While I cannot speak to the authenticity of those experiences, the timing raised questions for me about whether reviews accurately reflect how serious maintenance and safety concerns are handled.
