  Things were okay when we moved in. There for almost four years. Things drastically went downhill in the last year. High rent for a low quality living situation. In the last 9 months we were there we randomly started having bad roaches and it was very difficult to get the exterminator in (it still didn’t help after three visits). Trash compactor frequently broke and people would PILE trash in front of it. We got a community message about people speeding in the complex (which was very much a problem) and how something was being done about it yet it still happened. When we moved out, we got charged for damages we never caused and for certain things needing to be cleaned despite us having professional cleaners come and clean the day we moved out. It’s really sad to leave such a negative review because it was great when we moved in and throughout we always loved Mrs. LaDena . By the end it was an overpriced and poorly maintained nightmare. Avoid this place if you can.

  You're gonna be paying for amenities that you can't even use. The "fitness center" is tiny, the pool by the office hasn't been opened for the last 2 summers, and the other one is poorly maintained and only open every now and then. The playground for the kids is littered with broken glass and blunt wraps. It's not maintained and there are openings in the gate where your kid can get out. Nobody picks up after their dogs so you'll be dodging piles of crap every time you walk outside. The trash compactor is always broken and every single weekend trash piles up outside the compactor. Breezeways are filthy. The apartment itself is just okay, the maintenance staff is cool and office staff is nice. But rent is way too high for what you're actually getting.

  I have been a resident of The Abbey at Riverchase for 5 years and would recommend that this be your choice for a great place to live! The office staff is friendly and helpful and always willing to go the extra mile with you. The maintenance staff is responsive to requests and the grounds are well maintained. It is located near many stores and restaurants in the Hoover, AL area so you don't have to travel very far to shop or dine! Give The Abbey a call. I think you will like it as much as I do !!
