I recently visited Renaissance at Galleria because I liked the property and was interested in a 1-bedroom apartment I saw listed online. The community itself looked nice and well maintained. The first leasing lady who helped me was very kind and tried her best to answer my questions, even though it was her first day.
Unfortunately, my experience changed completely when the manager, Terrell, came in.
I asked a very normal question as a potential renter: whether I could see the actual available 1-bedroom apartment or schedule a time to view it before applying. I was told they would only show the model apartment, and that I would need to apply first and pay the application/admin fees before seeing the actual unit. When I asked what would happen if I didn’t like the actual apartment after approval, he said it would be “my loss.”
The way I was spoken to made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. While I was asking basic questions before paying fees, I felt dismissed, interrupted, and talked down to. At one point, I was told to stop talking, which was honestly shocking. As someone trying to respectfully understand the process before spending money, the interaction felt very disrespectful and, to me, had a racially uncomfortable tone.
I cannot speak for anyone else’s experience, but for me this was a clear sign not to move forward. If this is how a potential resident is treated before signing a lease, I would be very concerned about how residents are treated after moving in.
I would strongly recommend getting everything in writing and being very careful before paying any non-refundable fees here. This experience was enough for me to completely remove this apartment from consideration.
