  First of all, I would like to make it clear that this review is not focused on the employees in the front office or maintenance. They were doing their job to the best of their ability, and I appreciate them. I believe the problem stems from the very top management. One issue is that there is a high turnover rate. This made communication difficult. It seemed as if every time I had to contact the office, there were new employees and assistant managers. The biggest issue I had here was mold. Although the maintenance team was helpful in treating the mold that was there, there was never initiative taken from the top to see if ACs needed to be replaced. I could tell the mold was always there from the smell, however, it eventually got so bad that there was visible mold growing outside of my air vents and on my wall. I can imagine how hard it is to stay on top of mold prevention in buildings in this extremely humid state, but it should never get to the point of visibility. While the mold was treated a couple of times, it just came back because the root of the problem was never fixed. When I left my apartment, my clothes literally smelled like mold. I could not get the smell to go away. Another issue I had was when there was no running water anywhere in the entire complex for about 12 hours. A pipe busted, and I get that sometimes things like that happen. However, with the price of rent, I expect preventative measures to be in place so that doesn't happen. Upon moving out, I was charged money for a damaged door I did not break. It was just wood chipped at the ends. It kind of looked like a dog scratched it. It was painted over when I moved in. I guess I forgot to document it, or I must have thought this was trivial enough to not document, given the doors were flimsy and basically hollow anyway. Nevertheless, I paid the fee. I have never had issues with anything like that in my other apartments. So once again, I thank all the hard workers there who were just doing their jobs and were kind and helpful!! Lots of kind maintenance staff! However, these are some issues with the complex as a whole that come from the top that you may want to consider before moving here.

  Good luck getting the people running this place to answer your phone calls or fulfill a maintenance request. You have to go down to the office and ask in person over and over and over again before they even THINK about helping you. But they’re quick to give you a call that a trash bag was left out after pickup

  DO NOT USE LANDING! I don't know how a regular rental is, but the short term rental through Landing is horrible! They slapped lipstick on a pig. The water pressure... None. Cleanliness....subpar, there were hairballs. The fridge had a broken handle, the stove took forever to heat, and the kitchen and bathroom was so small that we were banging into the cabinets and doors. I had to buy a counter griddle just to cook meals. I work from home, and the Internet was out daily. I had to call everyday just to get a new network name and password.

  Jackie was great! She answered all my questions and took special care to give me a list of all upcoming available apartments. The tour apartment was beautifully appointed and gave me such a good idea of how I might see myself living here. Thank you, Brookwood!
