I’d give zero if I could. I lived at Southgateglen since 2023. Moved out when I got pregnant. My due date was the same day as my move out date. They were pressuring me to give them my keys earlier and when I asked them “how will I get in my house in the mean time? I’m not paying to live here while yall are trying to take my keys early just cause I’m pregnant”. I thought that was super inappropriate considering I was looking for a house to move into while I still had time to move before my lease was up. Now that I’ve left they are charging me $700. BE AWARE! the office staff sucks! Anything and I mean anything that could be wrong write it on the paper work they give you! I’m being charged for things that were messed up before I moved in. And they say the carpet last 5 years. Well I lived there for a little over 3 years with no pets! And I vacuumed regularly. They are charging me for new carpet as well. Insane.
I am beginning my third year at Southgate Glen, and the entire staff has been very nice and accommodating. Kristie and Ori in the office have always been professional and welcoming. Manny and Obed are outstanding at maintenance, and both have gone above and beyond to keep me comfortable here.

I have lived here for seven years. This property is well maintained with beautiful landscaping in my area. Maintenance issues are handled quickly, with Manny and Obed taking care to do a great job. Kristie, Ori, and Mae are always professional and friendly. There are monthly activities that involve residents, which makes it fun to live here!
We were having problems with our garbage disposal, working occasionally; but also had a foul odor emanating from it. I brought the issue to the attention of management and after several attempts to rectify the situation the manager ordered a new one at the urging of her supervisor. As soon as the garbage disposal came in the manager called to schedule a time to replace the old one and it was done within hours of being delivered to the complex. We are ecstatic because not only do we now have a garbage disposal that works every time we need it, but also the foul odor left the apartment with the old unit!!

I like the community. I like my neighbors. I like the convenience in location. The local staff are good people. I suspect the corporate office keeps them from doing much for tenants.
Edited 4/26/2021:
The apartments themselves are nice. I would absolutely recommend them short term. But after almost 4 years of living here, I am worn out with how small the front office makes me feel and I do not recommend renting for an extended time.
If you pay for covered parking, expect maintenance and contract workers to leave vehicles in your spot. If your A/C goes out, expect the front office to fake sympathy and tell you, "at least it's only March". (This happened in the first and second year of living here.)
It's just been a lot of small things piling up and being dismissed when I try to speak up about it that frustrates me so much. And although you should expect not having a lot of control when you're renting instead of buying, I don't believe this warrants me changing my rating. 3 stars is what you should expect of a typical apartment complex and Southgate Glen is your typical apartment complex. It is an acceptable apartment complex that will perform the minimum for you.
