  I applied to Abbey at Sonterra on March 25th at around 4:00 PM and paid the required application/administrative fees, expecting a standard and timely process. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing due to poor communication and lack of organization from the leasing office. After applying, I did not receive any updates on my application. On April 1st at approximately 1:40 PM, I called and was told my application was on the manager’s desk pending approval. Later that same day, I went in person, and it was only then that I was informed that a rental verification was needed. This had never been communicated to me before no call, no email, nothing. While still in the office, I immediately contacted my former apartment complex and had them send the rental verification on the spot. After that, I followed up again and was told that further approval was needed and to continue waiting. I continued to be proactive. That same week on Friday at around 11:30 AM, I called again for an update and was told to wait 30 minutes. I followed up at 12:07 PM and still no decision or update was provided. At no point did anyone from the office reach out to me with a final decision, update, or clear timeline—neither by phone nor email. Due to the urgency of my move and the complete lack of communication, I had no choice but to secure housing elsewhere. Despite this, they are now refusing to refund the administrative fee, claiming that I “cancelled before approval.” This is inaccurate. The reality is that my application was never properly completed or communicated, and I was left without answers. Overall, this experience reflects a serious lack of communication and accountability. I was patient, followed up multiple times, and even went in person to resolve missing documentation that was never initially communicated to me. Unfortunately, the process was mishandled from start to finish. I would strongly advise future applicants to be cautious and ensure constant follow-up, as the leasing office does not appear to provide timely updates or clear communication.

  We had such a great experience working with Jenny during our apartment application and move in process. From the very beginning, she made everything feel smooth and stress free. She was always responsive, patient with our questions, and took the time to explain every step so we knew exactly what to expect. What really stood out was how genuine she was. It truly felt like she cared about helping our family find the right place and wanted the best outcome for us, not just completing an application. Moving can be overwhelming, but Jenny made the whole process feel easy and welcoming. We’re really grateful for her help and kindness throughout the process. If you’re working with Jenny, you’re definitely in good hands!

  They make you fill out the application with an app. fee of $125. So we did our part with gathering all the paper work and i have a great credit score. I told my Boss I was moving, they made her fill out a paper of income and my income was good. I also sent my i.d. like twice because the lady didnt seem to keep everything in order in one pile. Only to be rejected because we didn't have job offer letters?!? Like why didn't you say that in the 1st place, instead of making us go through all that and collect the app.fee. like im so confused! They always find a way to make things harder in life, like not even a good credit score is good anymore! Jeez o wheezi'! Smh well they missed out on some clean very responsible tenants. Good luck w this one! Cause your gonna need it. Lol

  I’ve had a wonderful experience at The Abbey at Sonterra! The community is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and truly feels like home. The amenities are top-notch, and the location is perfect for convenient living. The employees are friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to help. From the leasing office to the maintenance staff, everyone is responsive and genuinely cares about the residents. All around great team! 💜 I highly recommend The Abbey at Sonterra to anyone looking for a comfortable home with outstanding customer service!

  Do not live here unless you’re a white individual. The office management is horrible. Prejudice treatment, rude behavior, unhelpful, unorganized, unprofessional, etc. The only people that care about you here is the trash and maintenance workers. They are the sweetest people ever. Everyone else no. Even experienced racism from neighbors. The rent is very high for what you’re getting compared to surrounding properties. Please save yourself the trouble. So happy to be rid of this place.
