  I was a resident of 1221 for a full 8 years and living here was a wonderful experience. When I first moved to San Antonio I was reluctant to move into an apartment, because I had only previously lived in houses, but I found at 1221 how incredible apartment life can be. The proximity to the river, downtown, and the pearl can't be beat, I could walk right out of my apartment and go for a beautiful walk on the river in either direction - something I will greatly miss! And inside the complex, the beautifully landscaped gardens provide a wonderful indoor-outdoor living experience. The current management is also great - this current team is the same team that was there when I originally moved in and you can tell they actually care about the residents. Miggy especially has been a great team leader in the office and so helpful throughout the years of living there. And the maintenance team as well is great - David is the nicest man in the world and is quick to jump on any needed fixes! We will miss the whole team. And of course, the exposed concrete architecture and sprawling desing of the complex is unlike any of the cookie cutter shoe boxes you'll find around this area and for a much better price! The complex was designed by a premiere team of planners, architects and landscape architects so if you appreciate good design, you'll find it at 1221. The construction is solid, and well insulated- critical for hot hot San Antonio summers! And with thick concrete walls, you will almost never hear your neighbors. Moreover, there are so many unique and interesting layouts to choose from, there's something for every type of renter. I will truly miss living here and would recommend to anyone!!

  Great management and staff!! I haven't even moved in yet (August 30th 2025 is my move in date) . The thing that I was really impressed with was how thorough and professional they are. Cindy helped me along the way to get everything squared away so I can move in soon! Love the ambiance of this place! Looking forward to living here!

  Okay honestly I've been living in SA for over 10 years now and this has been my favorite place to live. I've lived by UTSA, medical area and so far this has been the best. It's close to the downtown scene, run clubs, river walk, restaurants and everything else. The ceilings are tall and gives restoration hardware vibes if you know how to decorate. I wish they would add the green vines again to the outside walls again though because they look dead now. Also Porta Rosa is in the complex and gets loud during the weekends, but it doesn't really bother me. Besides that, they are very attentive. Like if the gate breaks, they'll have it fixed within a day. It's also close to bars so you can basically uber everywhere for cheap. If this review persuaded you to live here, mention my name (Daniel B.) so they can give me free rent or something lol.

  Really enjoyed my 3 years here at 1221. I love the industrial design and concrete floors that help stay cool during the hot summers. The location is unbeatable for the price. River north is one of the few places in San Antonio where you can actual walk to cool places within the area. Staff was great and super accommodating. Never had any real issues over my 3 years here. If I wasn't leaving San Antonio, I would have stayed here much longer.

  David Maldonado with the 1221 Broadway Lofts Maintenance team is absolute GOLD! He called me, to give me details on the repairs he made in my unit, saw light bulbs were out and replaced those as well, changed out my A/C filter while he was there and was so courteous! Thank you David!!!
